1. MAHAMANTRA MEANINGS
This section gives the meanings of all the maha mantras by Sloka.
Interpretations are taken as a reference from Adi Shankaracharya,
Parashara bhat and Satyasandha Theertha. Every guru may have his
own interpretation and henceforth, here we are trying to consolidate
the same and write the meanings for mahamantras

SLOKA 1

1) VISVAM: - Means the entire Universe. Vish means to enter or

to penetrate. Bhagavan is the cause of the universe and
henceforth, he is the universe. He is there in all the places and
everything is he himself. Bhagavan has created everything.
Apart from universe, its only he who is existing. He is the
primary as well as the secondary cause. As he is the total cause
for the universe, he is called VISHWAM. (Ex: - Spider creates its
own web. It gets the material from its own saliva. Spider
creating a spider web and entering and staying there is similar
to Bhagavan creating his own universe and entering the
universe to stay). Bhagavan created the universe, manifested
the universe and entered the universe and henceforth he is
VISHWAM. He is the primary as well as the secondary cause of
the universe. He is the embodiment of knowledge and
henceforth called VISHWAM.
2) VISHNUH: - He who pervades everywhere and occupies every
single space. The one who is penetrated everywhere
(SARVAVYAPI). He who pervades and penetrates inside of
yourself as well. He who measured the entire universe with his
feet.
3) VASHATKARAH: - The one who controls the universe at his will.
For whom the sacrificial versus are uttered in the Yagnas. One
who is embodiment of mantra is called Vashatkaraha. He is the
embodiment of 6 great qualities and hence VASHATKARAH
(Gyana or knowledge, Vyragya or dispassion, Veerya or Power,
Yashas or Fame, Shree or wealth, Aishwaryam or over
lordship)
4) BHUTA BHAVYA BHAVAT PRABHUH: - The one who is the
master of past, present and future. He is lord of time and is
beyond time. He is the one who is controlling the time. He is
the lord of all the beings (Past, present and future). He is the
only constant across past, present and future. He creates
auspiciousness, well being in past present and future and
hence the name
5) BHUTAKRD: - Creator of all beings and elements in the world.
He creates them at his own will independently. KRD also means
destruction and henceforth, he is also the destroyer of
everything. Creator and Destroyer of all existences in the
universe.
6) BHUTABHRD: - The one who supports the universe. The one
who maintains or sustains the universe. The one who nourishes
all of them. He is the central support system for the entire
universe just like a wheel. He supports every single being and
henceforth BHUTABHRD.
7) BHAVAH: - The one who exists in the form of universe. The one
who exists independent of anything or anyone. Universe may
come and go but he always exists. The one who exists always.
He is BHAVAH as each being is an ornament to him. The
various created beings add beauty to Bhagavan and thus he is
BHAVAH.
8) BHUTATMA: - he is the soul embedded in everything. He is the
essence of all the beings. The one who commands over all the
beings.
9) BHUTA BHAVANAH: - he who nourishes and nurtures all the
human beings. The one who makes all beings grown via
supporting them. The one who leads all our minds as per his
will and hence BHUTA BHAVANAH
