MATERIALS: PowerPoint Presentation

III. PROCEDURE

TEACHER’S ACTIVITY STUDENT’S ACTIVITY

1. PREPARATION ACTIVITY
(3mins.)
Greetings:

 Good afternoon class.  Good afternoon Ma’am!

Prayer:

 Let me first introduce myself I am  Oh Heavenly father thank you for

Erica Amolar from Entienza today help us to focus our hearts
Campus your math teacher for and minds now on what we about
today! So may I request everyone to to learn, thank you for way in
bow our head and close our eyes which you provide for us, We all
ask this in the name of Jesus.
Amen!
Classroom Management:

 Let’s proceed to class rules

1. Listen attentively and participate
actively. Avoid doing
unnecessary things
2. Turn off your microphone. Turn
it on if you are called to speak or
you have something to tell
3. Show respect and Enjoy learning  Yes Ma’am!
Are you agree with that class?
Attendance
 Who are absent for today?

 No Ma’am
2. REVIEW/RECALL (3mins.)
 What was our previous topic?  (Students will respond)

 Okay! And what have you learned? 

 Very Good!

3. LESSON PROPER
A. MOTIVATION (10mins.)
 Before we start with our discussion.  (The students will respond)
I will send the link to our chat box to
determine whether you have an idea
what should be our topic for today.

 Based from your activity we can

notice that our topic for today is
about triangle inequalities. So it said
that segment is shorter than another
segment if it’s length is AE < RS if  Ma’am the first Column is
PQ < RS the same in terms of angle 1.AX<YB - Given
so let’s answer below the given 2.XY=XY - Reflexive Property
Example:

Consider the point on the line

segment, If AX< YB prove that
AY<XB

Who wants to try?

 Ma’am Addition Property of
 Okay thank you!, how about the Inequality
next 3.AX+XY< YB+XY what is
the Reason?

 Okay let me continue

4. AX+XY= YB - Definition of  Ma’am substitution
betweenness
5. YB+XY= XB - Definition of
betweenness

How about the last? AY< XB?

 Okay Excellent! Because  Ma’am Inequality of Angles In a

substitution property, is If a= b then triangle said that “if one Angle of
a can be substituted for b. So, let’s a triangle is larger than the second
proceed to theorem: Inequality of angle, then the side opposite the
Angles in a Triangle (IAT) who first angle is longer than the side
wants to read? opposite of the second angle.
That is∠ B>∠ A then b> a.

 Okay! Thank you so before we

discuss let me give you example for
you to understand the concept of
IAT
Identify the Largest and smallest
side in each side of the given
example

B
 Ma’am the Largest is side AC

88 °
63 ° 32°

C
A
Anyone? Who wants to
answer?
 Ma’am the smallest side is AB.
 Okay Verygood how about the
smallest side?

 How about for our next example ?  Ma’am the smallest side is DE

V
D
48
87

E
 Ma’am the largest side is DV

 How about the largest side?

 Ma’am Inequality of sides in a
 Okay very good so let’s proceed to triangle in a triangle “ if one side
our next theorem: Inequality of of a triangle is longer than other
Sides in a triangle (IST) who wants side, the angle opposite the first is
to read the definition? larger than the angle opposite the
second angle b> a , the∠ B>∠ A .

 The first theorem is opposite to

the next theorem.
 Okay thank you what can you notice
by this theorem?

 So take a look the following:  Ma’am the largest side is∠ B.

Identify the largest and smallest
angle in each of the given side

131
133
4

 Ma’am the smallest angle is∠ A .

A B
12  Triangle inequality theorem “the
 How about the sum of any two sides of a triangle
smallest side angle? is greater than the length of the
third side

 Okay Very good! Let’s proceed to

our next theorem: Triangle
inequality who wants to read
anyone?  Ma’am 3+4 > 5 - 7 > 5 TRUE
4+5 > 3 - 9 > 3 TRUE
3+5 > 4 - 8 > 4 TRUE
 Okay thank you let me give you an
example. And who wants to try to
answer?

5
3
 Ma’am The answer is “Yes”
because 5+8 >11 - 13 > 11 T
5+11 >8 - 16 >8 T
8+11 > 5 - 29 > 5 T
4

 Okay thank you! Who wants to

answer the following: Determine if
the side length could form triangle.
1. { 5,8,11 }
 Okay very good how about no.2  Ma’am the answer is “No”
{ 9,4,3 }? 9+4 > 3 - 13 > 3
9+3 > 4 - 12 > 4
4+3 > 9 - 7 > 9 FALSE
∴ thecombination of the side length
{ 9,4,3 } cannot form a triangle
 Okay Very good  Ma’am the answer is “no”
How about no.3 11+30>19−41>19 T
{ 11,30,19 }? 11+19>30−30>30 F
Anyone? 30+19>11−49>11 T

 “if two sides of one triangle are

congruent respectively to the
 Okay second triangle where the
very good included angle of the first triangle
∴ the combination of the side is larger than included angle of
length { 11,30,19 }Cannot form a the second triangle, then the third
triangle. So let’s now proceed to our side of the first triangle is longer
next theorem which is “Hinge than the third side of the second
theorem” anyone who can read? triangle.

 Furthermore C it is also
known as SAS
Inequality Theorem let me give you
an example
 Ma’am since
CR ≅ CR the conditions for hinge
theorem is satisfied,the longer
segment(side) will be opposite
the longer side the answer is
AR<BR

Given: AC ≅ BC
m∠ ACR=32 °
m∠ BCR=18 °
Fill the box with <,> or =  It said that “if
AR BR

 Very good!, so let us now proceed to

our last theorem Converse hinge
theorem which is the opposite of
hinge theorem. Anyone who can
read?
IV. EVALUATON (9mins.)

Answers the following :

1. Jhonlee invested P250,000 in atime deposit account at 5% compounded semi annually. How
much is the value of the fund if it is drawn after 2 years and 3 months?

2. Ms. Chelle made deposit of P600,000. Tge amount was left to accumulate at 12 %
compounded quarterly for the first 3 years and 13% compounded semi annually for the next 3
years. Find the maturity value of the deposit at the end of 6 year.

3.Discount P45,500 for 2 years. Interest rate is at 4% compounded monthly.

Assignment

Problem :(NPV)Based on the projected states and cost the Cavite Coffee Cooperative expects
that the cash flows over the 5 years period will be P200.000 in the first 2 years, P400,000 in the
next two, P500,000 in fifth year. It will cost about P1,000,000 to begin production, The rate of
interest is at 10% effective, compute the net present value, is the project a worthy undertaking?
