3.0 SITE PREPARATION L/S - - -

have visited the work site,
looked over the drawings, and
made sure he was aware of
the means of access,
transportation and movement
facilities, storage of materials
and goods, installation of
constructional plant, existing
services, and site conditions,
as well as all other factors that
might have an impact on his

more payments will be made.

2.0 TURF PLANTING
Using a preferred method of

scarification, to loosen the existing
soil to a depth of 5.0 meters and
remove all loose stones, gravel, tree
stumps, and other objects that are
undesirable for turfing. To spread a
soil mixture with a 75 mm thick layer
over the site, use 1/3 composed soil
and 2/3 approved soil. Before turfing
is permitted, all finishes at grades
must receive L.A. approval.

Maintenance Operation and

Schedule - All maintenance must be
performed according to the
maintenance operation and schedule
in Appendix A. When particular
maintenance is necessary but not
specified, the contractor must consult
the S.O. for guidance.
To provide all necessary materials,

machinery, labor, transportation, and
other things for the ongoing
maintenance of the finished work,
including but not limited to the items
listed below. (During working hours, a
minimum of five (5) people will be
stationed at the site to maintain the
finished works.)
Unsatisfactory maintenance - It is the

contractor's obligation to write in at
the end of each month asking for an
inspection, failing which he will not be
entitled to the maintenance claim for
that month.
If the areas are determined to be

unsatisfactorily maintained, the
maintenance claim payable to the
contractor will be deducted with a
recommended amount that S.O
thinks appropriate.

Watering
The Landscape Contractor shall
water all trees, palms, shrubs,
groundcover, herbaceous plants and
other planting areas as often as
necessary to keep the ground moist
all around and to the full depth of the
roots.
Weeding
All planting beds are to be kept in a
weed free condition with a weeding
operation as per maintenance
schedule or more regularly as
required. All weeds, stones and
rubbish collected from this operation
shall be removed from the site by the
Landscape Contractor.
Pruning
i.Pruning is to be done with the cut
just above and sloping away from an
outward facing healthy bud.
ii. Removal of branches is to be done
by cutting flush with the adjoining
stem and in such a way that no part
of the stem is damaged or torn.
iii. Ragged edges of bark are to be
trimmed with a sharp knife.
iv. Any cuts or wounds over 25mm
diameter are to be painted with an

v. All pruning are to be cleared up
and removed from operation site after

continual basis supervise and attend
to fertilizer needs/disease
control/termite or fungus control as
maintenance operations during the
entire period of contract. An approved
pesticides shall be applied to each
plant at the rate provided in the
maintenance schedule or as
suggested by the Horticulture Advisor
to the Owner. Fertilizer shall apply
the fertilizer evenly spread over the
entire area and lightly forked into the
soils. All areas shall be well watered
immediately after application of
fertilizer.
Mulching
An additional 25m deep mulching
layer is to be spread over all planted
areas (except groundcover and turf),
once every 6 months or as specified
in Maintenance Schedule
