REACTION PAPER ON THE MOVIE “EVERY CHILD IS SPECIAL”

This movie shows the true essence of being a teacher and how hard it is to teach. In this
movie, I realized that being a teacher is really a noble profession. They need to put their hearts to
fully understand their students and give them appropriate learning methods that can easily
understand by students. You can only do that if you have a passion for this profession. Not all
people can be sensitive and caring enough for the needs of others but, a teacher needs to extend
their hands beyond their limitations for the students to learn because not all students have the same
level of thinking. Imagine a student that can’t read or properly write because he/she has trouble
recognizing letters and, some parents or teacher understood this as just an excuse for them to be
lazy and continuously comparing him to other normal students, degrading to the point that the child
questions themselves what is wrong with them, why can’t they do what others can do effortlessly?.
This child must be going through the confusion and shattered his self-confidence that maybe leads
to his self-destruction because nobody knows his special needs. That’s, why we need to consider
multiple intelligence when assessing our students, to give them the appropriate teaching methods
that will help students to learn more effectively.
“Every child has his own capabilities, own desires, and own dreams.” These movie lines
remained in me. I realized that every child is a potential genius in their own ways and, we must help
them nurture their talents and accept their uniqueness as their strength to strive more and be
competent in this competitive world. It should start with us, teachers and, parents to guide,
understand, encourage and genuinely care for them to discover their talents, achieving their dreams,
and be ready in the future in this challenging world.
