Hello! Good morning/Goodafternoon! My name is Nico John B. Alcontin!

I am here today standing in front of you, and share my facts and opinion about
the poverty in the Philippines, before I proceed to my speech can anyone tell
me what is poverty? What is the main reason why poverty in the Philippines is
the main problem of our Country? Thank you for your opinion and cooperation
to this topic.

In my opinion to poverty Based on the Preliminary Results of the Family

Income and Expenditure Survey (FIES) in 2021, poverty incidence among
population, defined as the proportion of Filipinos whose per capita income
cannot sufficiently meet the individual basic food and non-food needs, was
recorded at 18.1 percent. This translates to around 19.99 million Filipinos who
lived below the poverty threshold of about Ph. 12,030 per month for a family of
five. The subsistence incidence, defined as the proportion of Filipinos whose
income is not enough to meet even just the basic food needs, slightly increased
to 5.9 percent in 2021 based on this FIES result regarding how much the
poverty hits in our Country, I asked myself does early pregnancy can cause
poverty? Does misleading of parenting affect the poverty in our Country? After
asking and searching in the internet I can say that poverty occurs affected by
the “Degree Holder” many of the Filipinos who are not “Degree Holder” but fully
skilled individual who’s not hired because they’re not college graduate, some of
them skilled but shy to engage their self because of discrimination they can
encounter. Continuing my opinion to my speech I can say that corruption may
affect the poverty wherein highly position personnel’s corrupting the people’s
money, then Covid19 breakout also happened wherein Filipinos losses their job
and became unemployed that may triggered pregnancy may come higher on its
normal percentage that can cause more poverty in our Country.

There is only one thing for us to prevent poverty we must continue to aim
high and dream big to achieve our Goal in life, and we must also engage our
self by trusting God.
