What are some benefits of testing new drugs on animals ?

From my point of view, there are plenty of advantages to testing new drugs on animals.
Firstly, the repercussions are not as great as experimenting on humans. We can learn from
trials if drugs are dangerous or not, in order to protect humans’ health. Secondly, it’s more
cost effective to test on fauna first. We can catch the animals or spend little money on raising
them. Thirdly, scientists can analyse further the result, discover the negatives before human
trials.
What are some arguments against testing new drugs on animals ?
From my underpinning, a great deal of people strongly protest the drug experiments on
animals. First, they consider it inhumane, as animals are innocent and do nothing wrong to
be forced to be tested with new medicines. Second, their bodies are not identical to human
beings, they have different anatomy and physiology. This can cause great contrasting effects
when doing the human trials. In Particular, fauna have different medical conditions and life
expands. For example, humans can live up to 80 years old while some testing animals’
average life expectancy is only at about 5 years.
