A. NETWORK DIAGRAM
A project schedule network diagram depicts the sequential and logical relationship between project tasks. This network
diagram tool is used to map out the project's schedule and work sequence, as well as track its progress through each stage - including
completion. A network diagram is useful in illustrating the scope of the project because it includes the large tasks that must occur
over the course of the project.

2. Network Diagram
A project network can be displayed in two ways: AOA ("Activities on Arrows") and AON ("Activities on Nodes"). In our
project, we will use the AON model to create our network diagram, which will be shown in the chart below. Each box, or node, in
this model represents an activity, with arrows representing relationships between them.

6
Flow chart 1: Network diagram in normal time

7
After creating the network diagram, it is critical to identify the project's critical path. The critical path is the path that contains
all zero-slack (zero-float) activities, or in other words, the critical path has a slack time of zero. According to the above chart, our
project's two critical paths will be: 2.1 – 2.2 – 2.3 – 2.4 – 2.5 – 3.2 – 3.3 – 6.1 – 6.2 -6.3 – 6.4 – 6.5 – 7.1 – 7.2 – 8.1 – 8.2 and 2.1
– 2.2 – 2.3 – 2.4 – 2.5 – 3.2 – 3.3 – 6.1 – 6.2 -6.3 – 6.4 – 6.5 – 7.1 – 7.2 – 9.1 – 9.2 – 9.3. The total amount of time (or critical time)
for our project is 280 days.

Project crashing occurs when we reduce the time of one or more tasks to shorten the duration of a project. To plan for project
crashing, we must first identify the crash time (or minimum time) of each project activity and the crash cost per day of each task,
because crashing an activity will increase the total cost of the project, as previously stated. Once we have estimated how much time
each task will take, we will create a new network diagram to determine the best time to complete our project. In addition, project
failure can cause a shift in the current critical path and the emergence of a new critical path.

8
Flow chart 2: Network diagram in Crash Time

9
The new critical path is: 2.1 – 2.2 – 2.3 – 2.4 – 2.5 – 3.2 – 3.3 – 6.1 – 6.2 -6.3 – 6.4 – 6.5 – 7.1 – 7.2 – 8.1 – 8.2. The best
new duration is 230 days.

B. RESOURCE ALLOCATION/ RESOURCE LEVELING

Resource leveling is a project management technique that entails resolving over-allocation or scheduling conflicts in order
to ensure that a project can be completed with the resources that are available. In this context, resources refer to the human resources
required to complete a project on time.

1. Resource Leveling
Assumption:
 The maximum working hours/week of each employee is 40 hours
 The company consists of 9 employees in charge of the action plan
Resource leveling:

BAN SAC VIET RESOURCE LEVELING

Activities Duration (Weeks) Resource Working time hour/day (hour/week)

1. Business Registration 4 Employee 1,2 4 - 24
2. Finding potential partners 8 Employee 3,4,5 6 - 36
3. Product research and development 17 Employee 6,7,8 8 - 48
4. Staff and partner training 12 Employee 6,7 3 - 18
5. Website development 4 Employee 8, 9 5 - 30
6. Build Marketing Plan 4 Employee 1, 2 4 - 24
10
7. Product commercialization 8 Employee 1, 2, 9 7 - 42
8. Product management 4 Employee 6,7,8 6 - 36
9. Customer-service consultant 4 Employee 3,4,5 8 - 48

2. Methods to Allocate Resources

 Selective hiring:
To be able to build an effective working environment and healthy competition, the project needs to select employees
carefully. Project managers need to build a list of criteria as well as requirements for candidates when recruiting.
When recruiting, employers need to apply many different recruitment methods to be able to select the most suitable
candidates for the position. Choose the most suitable people, not the best ones.

11
Make sure your employees understand and have the same development goals as the project. They are willing to stick
with and dedicate themselves to the work they will do.
 Build effective and self-managed teams:
Dividing employees into different groups and assigning authority to one person to lead will make employee
management more effective. Not only that, the project is also easy to control the progress and efficiency of work.
Dividing employees into small groups makes the environment more competitive, which in turn promotes work results.
However, dividing employees into small groups requires the project to select an appropriate team leader. Otherwise,
the results of the whole team will suffer and the relationship between employees will deteriorate.
 Fair rewards and punishments:
Clear rewards and punishments will let project staff know if they are doing well or not well at a particular issue. Not
only that, the punishment when making a mistake will make other employees look at it and avoid making that mistake.
As for the bonus, rewarding employees will make not only them but other employees more motivated and strive for
more work. However, the reward or punishment needs to be applied in a reasonable way to ensure the effectiveness
that this brings.
 Training the necessary skills:
Not every employee has the necessary skills for the job. As mentioned above, the project does not hire the best people
but selects the most suitable ones. So after recruiting, the project will arrange to train and guide employees in related
jobs and skills. This will ensure the level of work efficiency in the long run. Not only that, employee training makes
employees feel that they also get other benefits from the project other than salary.

12
Employee training will also make employees more engaged with their work and feel more responsible. In addition,
training in basic skills needed for the project will help the project avoid unnecessary problems from personnel such
as making technical mistakes or having an unprofessional attitude towards customer.
 Give the required salary for each job position:
Each position will have different work characteristics, so project managers need to build a suitable salary table for
each employee's position to ensure fairness. Managers need to divide the job positions according to each level such
as: management level, strategic level and strategy implementation level, and the salary according to each level will
also decrease gradually. Accordingly, for the time of work, managers can be divided into full-time employees and
part-time employees.
In addition, the evaluation of salary also needs to depend on the quality of work. The quality of work must ensure that
the salary is agreed to avoid having employees who follow the quantity of work, not the quality.
 Have appropriate social security policies:
Social security policies will make employees feel secure and confident in the work they are doing. As mentioned
above, employees need to enjoy benefits other than their salary, only then can they feel attached and loyal to the
project.
In Vietnam today, the popular social security policies that any company or project needs to follow are the policy of
paying social insurance, health insurance, ... In addition, depending on the different companies, there will be different
projects.

13
For Bansac Viet, the project will organize bonding or travel when all employees in the project complete their work
excellently. It is expected that the project will allow employees to travel and bond twice a year to increase the solidarity
between employees and the employee's attachment to the company.
