NARRATIVE REPORT
(District Meet 2023)

JANUARY 25, 2023 (1st Day)

Growing, developing and maturing are the key things that sports teach us. It
helps us grow our character as a player, develop our skills, and mature our
perspectives about winning and losing.
Last February 25, 2023, the Paspasin Elementary School delegation marched
forward to the very exciting District Meet which was held at San Teodoro Central
School. Players from each event proudly wore their PES jersey as they rode their
way to the venue early in the morning.
The said event was started with the usual opening prayer, singing of National
Anthem, welcome remarks and so on. But the most anticipated activity was the
cheers and yells prepared by each delegation from the elementary department. Each
school had their vocal chords almost ripped as they shouted with might how they
would conquer and win every game they had entry, and PES was not an exemption.
Though the number of players was too small compared to others, the delegation
roared mightily as how they pronounced their preparedness in the District Meet
2023.
The games were announced to commence and I was tasked to be at the
DanceSport Competition held at the Multi-purpose hall of STCS. Together with my
dancers, Jillian and Nash, for Modern Standard, and Katlyn and King Alexis, for Latin
Category, we dashed our way to the venue wearing the smiles and eye-captivating
costumes customized for them. The said event was participated by 4 different
schools having 1 pair for each category – LES, SRES, PES, and STCS.
Though PES had a rough standing with 4 th place in the Latin Category, and 3 rd
place for Modern Standard, still the delegation was proud as the beginners and
rookie school for the said event.
After the downfall of the delegation from DanceSport, I went to coach the
Volleyball Boys Team of PES as they almost give a scare to the SRES Team beating
up 2 – 1 in the final match-up standing. Afterwards, the team went to battle TES
without key players as they were at another match to represent PES Basketball Boys
Team. Though the core of the team weren’t there, TES found a hard time to end the
match quickly as the PES VBT snatched the extended second set after eventually
surrendering to them on the third set.

JANUARY 26, 2023 (2nd Day)

On the early morning of Sunday, January 26, the games which were postponed
due to constant raining in the afternoon of January 25, were continued. The
tournament manager as well as the officials of athletics throwing events were
focused on praying that a good weather may come for the event to push through.
Before the start of the athletic events, I have come to witness the championship
battle between Tacligan Elementary School and Lumangbayan Elementary School in
volleyball girls’ tourney. It was quite a tremendous battle between the two school
after which was settled with a missed receive from Lumanbayan ES in the third set
making Tacligan ES champion in the District wide Volleyball Girls Tournament.
After that, our little runner, Kate Daniella F. Bengua through the track and field
and won 3rd place overall in her event.
Afterwards, despite the constant raining, the throwing events of the athletics
were pushed through thanks to the eagerness of Mrs. Evangeline and Mr. Benjie.
The said tourney was quite interesting as different schools competed to gain a spot
in the top 3 players of the throwing events which include javelin throw, discuss throw
and shot put.
The day was ended with receiving of certificates to the winners of the events
played on the said date.
