1. What is the setting of the story?


- Mountains, volcano here in Bicol
2. What does the rooster symbolizes in the story?
- The rooster indicate or serve as community which chitchat about others on the outside

3. What character traits of men and women, particularly husbands and wives, are depicted in the
story? How does the story reflect and/or subvert reality then and now?

- Women can balance work and family duties while the man is a g provider. Man help his wife
with the household chores and help to take care of his kids and the wife knows how to
manage the family income
4. Why do you think giants figure in many stories? What explanation can you give for this
fascination with giants from a psychoanalytic or feminist viewpoint
- For me, giant figures represent our culture. It represents our beliefs.
