 Conversion from Percentages to Decimals

Consider the percentage 16%.

Step 1 16% =  Write the percentage as a fraction with 100 as the denominator.

Step 2 = 0.16  Write the fraction as a decimal.

Quick way:
16% .16.% 0.16   Move the decimal point 2 places to the left.

Remove the ‘%’ sign.
