This artwork titled "Metamorphosis" captures human emotions through a portrait orientation. It depicts the negative and positive changes a person can undergo. Negatively, external pressures can cause one to detach from their identity and embrace sorrow, represented by red and blue colors. Further, turning black means grieving the loss of self. Positively, internal hope remains for improving oneself, as white represents an opportunity to become caring and loving through change.

I have made my artwork in the portrait orientation as this would be the most appropriate format to capture the human emotions and expressions. Why “Metamorphosis”? it is because the meaning of this art is about the negative and positive changes in the human person. Negative change because the subject literally detached himself from his own identity, this is due to the pressure and expectations brought by a variety of factors like peer pressure, academic expectations, unresolved trauma, and insecurities which is represented by the color red. As a consequence, the subject became sorrowful within himself which is represented by the color blue. And, furthermore, the color black means grief and being emotionless because of the idea that he became a different person and that he had lost himself in the process. Now, on the other hand, the positive change is still within himself and has not detached from him, as the color white represents hope or another chance, he can still try to be more caring and loving to himself so that he could change into a better version of himself.
