Implementers, as well as the beneficiaries of the project entitled “VEGGIE for IM’s: Vegetable

Project will benefit our School children as well as becoming producing healthy vegetables.

I. Name of Project:
“VEGGIE for IM’s: Vegetable Production as Fund Source for “Instructional
Materials of Grade 6 class”

III. Introduction:
Vegetable gardening is a very rewarding endeavor. Ideally, this activity is undertaken in
school to support school program needs and use vacant site and available resources to the fullest.
In 2007, DepEd released Memo #293 “Gulayan sa Paaralan” encouraging increase public
awareness in health and nutrition especially among pupils, teachers, and parents. The following
year DepEd Memo #234, s. 2008, which encouraged the planting of malunggay (moringa) trees
in school was issued by then Secretary of Education Jeslie Lapuz which complemented “Gulayan
sa Paaralan”. Aurora Aquino Elementary School sustains this initiatives as it adapts
containerized gardening and developed a vegetable park. As a result, the said school was
materialized and produced financially , this is to sustain the needs of the pupils.
In this light, the implementr embarked on an income generating project as a means of
maintaining and sustaining the program. Most importantly funds were raised for the procurement
of intructional materials, specifically educational television to enhance pupils learning and a
printer which is used for the reproduction of activity sheets and downloade materials from the
internet for the different subject.

IV. Objectives:
1. To raise funds for the procurement of instructional materials specifically educational
Television to enhance pupils learning and printer to be used for the production of activity sheets
and downloaded materials from the internet.
2. To develop appreciation of the pupils the importance of agriculture in their life as a source of
food and income.
3. To provide an opportunity for inculcating among the pupils the value of work, industry and
caring for the environment.
4. To apply the knowledge and skills learned in planting at home.
5. To help their parents toaugment financial income in the future.
6. To provide opportunities for hands-on learning, inquiry, observation and experimentation.

V. Descrition of the Project:


The implementer embarked on an income generating projects to maintain the Gulayan
Program of the school. It will be a productive activity. Funds will raise from the proceeds of the
project, thus the Grade VI class was able to buy Educational Television which enhances pupils
learning, photocoping materials and a printer which is used for the production of activity sheets
and sownloaded materials from the internet.
a. Technical Description
The project is located at Aurora Aquino Elementary School, Sta Rita Concepcion, Tarlac.
The seeds will be given by concern parents from the barangay and the rest will be bought
outside.
b. Organizational Management
The project is headed by the adviser with the support of the pupils and GPTA members.
Cost of the project is shown in Table B.

VI. Implication/Benefits
Istructional impications of vegetable gardening are reflected in the different objectives
taken from subject areas of Science, Math, English, Nutrition, and most especially EPP subject.
Conventional test like quizzes, performance tests can be used to determine the effect of
instructional implications of vegetables and gardenning in the pupils learning

Monitoring of the Project

Each group are will be assisted by the Project In-Charge. Their daily activities performed
in the project will be recorded by the group leaders using project form. Observation and data
gathering will be entered in the ledger book.
All the forms as well as the ledger book will be prepared by the leader under the
supervision of the teacher.
Budget for the project may initially funded by the teacher proponent.
Breakdown or worksheet of expected initial expenditures.
Any convenient arragement for the Home Economics Classes. Garden Time can be
made to devote their vacant time for the preparation ofmaterials and finished products.

Project Operational Description

A. Market

Vegetables provide the nutrients and vitamins the body needs when these vegetables are
digested. Vegetables are also claimed to be a powerhouse of nutritional values.Hence, this
Income Generating Project awaken the consciousness of the pupils in the effect of having a
healthy dietary intake.

In the marketing of the produce, the pupils will maintain their grouping in the school
garden.Each group will harvest their own vegetables and sold of the same flows in the same
place, school garden. Each group will record their sales.

Net Sharing
The sharing percentage of the net income will be 60% for the pupil-cooperators and
40% will be for the school. The pupil net share will be divided equally to the 30 member.
The school share will be used to acquire the budget in Purchasing of Educational
Television and Printer that will use by the Grade 6 pupils of Aurora Aquino Elementary School.

IX. Summary/Recommnedations/Suggestions
The project recommendation to be adapted by other pupils in the district for it is
economically productive and to help solve econmic problem/crisis of our country.
