BACKDROP: A view of the countryside.

(Chicken Little is sitting under a walnut tree and an actor drops a walnut onto
Chicken Little’s head)

CHICKEN LITTLE
Ow! Oh no! The sky is falling down. I must tell the King.

Exit Chicken Little, very worried.

BACKDROP: A farmyard

Enter Chicken Little from the left walking a little bit across the stage.

HENNY PENNY
Hi Chicken Little.

CHICKEN LITTLE
Hello Henny Penny.

HENNY PENNY
How are you?

CHICKEN LITTLE
I’m very worried. The sky is falling down and I’m going to tell the King.

HENNY PENNY
Can I come too?

CHICKEN LITTLE
Of course you can.

Lucky Ducky swims across, naturally.)

SCENE V: A FOREST NEAR THE CASTLE

BACKDROP: A forest with a castle in the background.

Enter stage left Chicken Little, Henny Penny walk, Lucky Ducky and Lucy Goosey
walking through the forest.

Enter Mr Fox stage right.

THE FOX
I’m hungry. Oh look. A chicken, a hen, a duck and a goose.
Yummy yummy in my tummy.

HENNY PENNY
Sorry. What did you say?

THE FOX
Oh I said, How lovely to see you. How are you?

CHICKEN LITTLE, HENNY PENNY, LUCKY DUCKY and LUCY GOOSEY

We are very worried. The sky is falling down and we are going to tell the
King.

THE FOX
Really? The sky is falling down?
Well, the sky is falling down for you because I am going to eat you for my
lunch. Aaargh!

(Mr Fox chases the birds around the stage and eventually traps them. He has a
knife and fork in his hand.)

SOUNDS: sounds of a fox hunt.

LUCKY DUCKY
It’s the king!

LUCY GOOSEY
And the king is foxhunting!

Enter the King stage left.

THE KING
I am Henry, King of England.

THE FOX
Oh no! It’s the King.

THE KING
Oh, look. It’s the fox.

THE FOX
(addressing the birds)
Goodbye, you silly birds.

Exit The Fox, being chased by The King

THE KING
Goodbye, everyone. Tally ho!

HENNY PENNY
Now, the sky is falling down for the Fox.

CHICKEN LICKEN
We still need to speak to the King! Let’s go after him.

LUCKY DUCKY
No way, Chicken Little. Maybe the King is hungry too.
