Sourcing from Domestic Suppliers

Advantages:
Fast and easy delivery
Cheaper shipping costs
Disadvantages:

Less choice
Minimum order quantities
May not be able to private label/brand/customize
Business status – many domestic suppliers only allow orders from businesses (either sole
trader/proprietor, or company)

Domestic suppliers can offer a quick way to get started selling on Amazon, but you may not
be able to find one that supplies the items you want to sell in a small enough quantity.
However, this is still an option worth considering.
In this course you are going to learn to create your OWN listings on Amazon, so that you are
not competing for the ‘buy box’ (remember the lecture about the two types of seller?). To
create your own listing, you need a unique code for the product you want to sell. When you
purchase from domestic wholesalers, it’s not always possible to apply your own unique code
to a product. It depends on the wholesaler and on the products they sell.
Kole Imports is one wholesaler where you CAN apply your own code to many of the
products in their catalogue. However, this is not the case with all wholesalers.
Here are the URL’s of the domestic suppliers discussed in the video:

And here’s an additional wholesaler that ships within Ireland and N. Ireland only

The above list includes many of the most popular websites, but you can do your own Google
search to find more and to find wholesalers in other countries, such as Canada, India and
Australia.
