Dear Durham City Council and the Board of County Commissioners,

Habitat for Humanity of Durham is formally withdrawing our name from the SCAD application,
proposal, and revision process.

Habitat for Humanity of Durham believes that providing affordable housing in decent
communities should be a matter of conscience and action for all. Our support for the SCAD
proposal was given in that spirit and belief. The Board of Directors is committed to gathering
more information about the text amendments, reevaluating our partnerships, and carefully
consider the overall community impact. We continue to be committed to the principles and
ideals of affordable housing for all and look forward to our continued work with the city council
as we look to fulfill our ongoing mission.

We are requesting our name be removed from all documents regarding this process and
application. Please direct all questions to Mrs. Tiana Joyner, CEO Habitat for Humanity of
Durham.
