Despite a large number of gyms, a sedentary lifestyle is gaining

popularity in the contemporary world. What problems are associated with
this? What solutions can you suggest?

Overpopulation of urban areas has led to numerous problems. Identify

one or two serious ones and suggest ways that governments and
individuals can tackle these problems.

Nowadays many people have access to computers on a wide basis and

a large number of children play computer games. What are the negative
and positive impacts of playing computer games and what can be done
to minimise the bad effects?

Global warming is one of the biggest threats humans face in the 21st
Century and sea levels are continuing to rise at alarming rates. What
problems are associated with this and what are some possible solutions.

The internet has transformed the way information is shared and

consumed, but it has also created problems that did not exist before.
What are the most serious problems associated with the internet and
what solutions can you suggest?

In the developed world, average life expectancy is increasing. What

problems will this cause for individuals and society? Suggest some
measures that could be taken to reduce the impact of ageing
populations.

In some countries young people are not only richer, but also safer and
healthier than ever before. However, they are often less happy. What do
you think are the reasons for this and what can be done to help?

SAMPLE ANSWER
It has been widely seen that the overwhelming number of population
living in big cities around the world has caused some serious issues.
This essay will discuss the main problems which might appear and
provide some possible solutions to overcome them.

There are at least two major problems led by the overpopulation in

urban regions. The strongest one is related to the increase of the
crime rates. If this issue should have happened, the city will lose their
feeling of security, safety and comfort in passing their daily life.
Another related issue can be the matter of the food crises. This is
typically because the high demands of consumption required by the
citizens cannot be prepared by the government. Once this happens,
the city might wholly face famine leading to serious health issues.

Furthermore, in order to solve the problems, there might be some

viable ways taken by some sectors. In terms of the government
effort, they can provide and run some transmigration programmes,
so it is expected that the high number of people living in urban areas
can be reduced giving more spaces and reducing some related
consequences. The other solution which can be done individually is
that people should also help control the increase of the birth rate by
using contraception. Had they successfully done this, the country
would hopefully significantly combat the problems.

In conclusion, the overpopulation seen in many urban places across

the globe may lead to the increase of criminal actions and food
shortage leading to many other related problems. However, the
government can take serious actions by implementing
transmigration, and people themselves can use some ways to help
reduce the rates of birth.
