2 AUDIO AMPLIFIER STAGE

There are 2 different amplifier options used for 17MB48 main board. These amplifiers are
TPA3113D2 for 6W and AZAD2102B for 2,5W option.

2.1 TEXAS INS. 6 W Audio Amplifier (TPA3113D2) (U3)

3.1.1 General description

The TPA3113D2 is a 6-W (per channel) efficient, Class-D audio power amplifier for driving
bridged-tied stereo speakers. Advanced EMI Suppression Technology enables the use of
inexpensive ferrite Bead filters at the outputs while meeting EMC requirements. SpeakerGuard™
speaker protection circuitry includes an adjustable power limiter and a DC detection circuit. The
adjustable power limiter allows the user to set a "virtual" voltage rail lower than the chip supply
to limit the amount of current through the speaker. The DC detect circuit measures the
frequency and amplitude of the PWM signal and shuts off the output stage if the input
capacitors are damaged or shorts exist on the inputs.

The TPA3113D2 can drive stereo speakers as low as 4 Ω. The high efficiency of the TPA3113D2,
87%, eliminates the need for an external heat sink when playing music.

The outputs are also fully protected against shorts to GND, VCC, and output-to-output. The
short-circuit protection and thermal protection includes an auto-recovery feature.

2.2 AMAZING 2.5 W Audio Amplifier (AZAD2102B) (U1&U2)

3.2.1 General description

AZAD2102B is a 2.9 Watts (max. can offer 3.0 Watts @ Load = 3Ω,THD=10%,
AVdd=DVdd=5.5Volt) with high efficiency filter-free class-D audio power amplifier in a 1613
mm x 1613 mm wafer chip scale package (WCSP). AZAD2102B uses Current-switch
technology to achieve high performance class-d amplifier that features 0.03% THD, 85%
efficiency, –70 dB PSRR, to improve RF-rectification immunity.
AZAD2102B provide a Vibration-Spectrum modulation clock for PWM Output. This vibration
frequency is around 10KHZ shift (+/- 5KHZ of Fpwm).
The advantage of the small size package (WCSP) makes AZAD2102B very suitable for mobile
phone and PDA device application. And the Class-D amplifier structure let AZAD2102B to
have highly efficiency power consumption than Class-AB amplifier. AZAD2102B can shrink the
application board; reduce system cost, and external components.

4 16Mb SERIAL FLASH MEMORY (MX25L1605D)

4.1 General Description
The MX25L1605D are 16,777,216 bit serial Flash memory, which is configured as 2,097,152 x 8
internally. When it is in two I/O read mode, the structure becomes 8,388,608 bits x 2. MX25L1605D
feature a serial peripheral interface and software protocol allowing operation on a simple 3-wire bus.
The three bus signals are a clock input (SCLK), a serial data input (SI), and a serial data output (SO).
Serial access to the device is enabled by CS# input. To provide user with ease of interface, a status
register is included to indicate the status of the chip. The status read command can be issued to
detect completion status of a program or erase operation via WIP bit. Advanced security features
enhance the protection and security functions; please see security features section for more details.
When the device is not in operation and CS# is high, it is put in standby mode and draws less than
20uA DC current. The MX25L1605Dutilizes Macronix's proprietary memory cell, which reliably stores
memory con- tents even after typical 100,000 program and erase cycles.

In MB48 board one 16Mb flash memory IC is used. The IC is used for SPV7052.

confirms to Extended IIC 2-wire protocol that allows accessing of memory in excess of 16Kbit on an
IIC bus. This serial communication protocol uses a Clock signal (SCL) and a Data signal (SDA) to
synchronously clock data between a master (e.g. a microcontroller) and a slave (EEPROM). 24C64 is
designed to minimize pin count and simplify PC board layout requirements. 24C64 offers hardware

6.3.2 General Description

The 24LC02 is non-volatile, 2048-bit serial EEPROM with enhanced security device and conforms to
all specifications in I2C 2-wire protocol. The whole memory can be disabled (Write Protected) by

switched to Vss. The 24LC02's communication protocol uses CLOCK(SCL) and DATA I/O (SDA) lines to
synchronously clock data between the master (for example a microcomputer) and the slave EEPROM
device(s). In addition, the bus structure allows for a maximum of 16K of EEPROM memory. This is
supported by the family in 2K, 4K, 8K, 16K devices, allowing the user to configure the memory as the
application requires with any combination of EEPROMs (not to exceed 16K).

8 Troubleshooting
8.1 No Backlight Problem
Problem: If TV is working, led is normal and there is no picture and backlight on the panel.

Possible causes: Backlight pin, dimming pin, backlight supply, stby on/off pin

BL_ON/OFF_NOT pin should be high (3.3V) in open position. If it is low, please check Q05 and panel
cables.

Dimming pin should be high or square wave in open position. If it is low, please check R207
for Sunplus side and R282 for panel side or power cables, connectors.
38

Backlight power supply (PANEL_VCC) should be in panel specs. It can be 5V, 12V or 3.3V
depending on the panel specs. Please check Q41, shown below;

STBY_ON/OFF should be low for TV on condition, please check Q9’s collector.

39

8.2 Led Blinking Problem

This problem indicates a short on Vcc voltages. Protection pin (PROTECT_DET) should be logic high
while normal operation. When there is a short circuit, protect pin will be logic low. If you detect logic
low on protect pin, unplug the TV set and control voltage points.
40

8.3 IR Problem
Problem: LED or IR not working

Check LED card supply. F62 should be high by default. When using the remote, there should be I2C
(voltage high-low) activities on F62. If not, check the cable connection.
41

8.4 Keypad/Touchpad Problems

Problem: Keypad/Touchpad is not working

Check keypad supply and KEYBOARD_STBY pin.

42

8.5 No Sound Problem

Problem: No audio at main TV speaker outputs.

Check supply voltages of VDD_AUDIO.

There may be a problem in headphone connector or headphone detect circuit (when headphone is
connected, speakers are automatically muted). Measure voltage at HP_DET pin, it should be 2V when
there is no headphone connected.

8.6 No Audio at Headphones

Problem: No audio at headphone output.

Check HP_DET pin. When headphone is on, it should be 0V.

Check headphone supply voltage. It should be 5V.

43

8.7 Standby On/Off Problem

Problem: Device cannot boot, TV hangs in standby mode.

There may be a problem about power supply. Check powers with a voltage-meter. Also there may be
a problem about SW. Try to update TV with latest SW. Additionally; it is good to check SW printouts
via hyper-terminal (or Teraterm). These printouts may give a clue about the problem.

8.8 No Signal Problem

Problem: No signal in TV mode.

Check tuner supply voltage; 3V3_VCC_XC and 1V8_VCC_XC. Check tuner options are correctly set in
Service menu.
