Report Requirements:

The working days/week is taken as 6 days & the hours of work per day are 10 hours (8.00

AM – 6.00 PM). Find the project finish date. There is a lead-time of a days for activity 9 &
for activity 12 there is a lead time of 5 days each for its predecessor.

The activities involved and their corresponding duration are listed in the module 1
workbook. The resource & cost for each activity are found out. Draw the network diagram.
Find the project completion date, resource & cost estimation. Use the constraints wherever
applicable. The start date of the project is 01/09/2001.

The constraints that are available for the project are discussed below.

a) The phase – II trenching has got delayed by 3 days due to local villagers
problem. b) In phase I,II,& IV due to the road crossing available to trenching in
certain parts

are done during night by special night duty team comprises of one engineer,
two supervisor, ten helpers, three welders, two fitters, one QC Engineer & one
QC supervisor. one black coating team comprising of one supervisor & four
helpers are also involved. Apart from this, the team has got one crane & one
excavator. Their work starts from 9.00 P.M. to 5.00 A.M. the next day. Phase –
I two days, phase –II three days & Phase IV one day.

c) Cost – engineerà900/d, supervisorà600/d, QC engineerà1000/d, QC

supervisor 600/d, Fitter 450/d, welder 550/d, Helper 200/d.

d) Due to the non clearance of papers from the police department some parts of
the trenching is get delayed in Phase III by a day.
