1. Pupils look at phrase “Science in the classroom” on the board.
PRE-LESSON 2. Pupils brainstorm as a class examples of different kinds of science that they can study.
3. A list is written on the board (e.g. physics, biology, botany, zoology, etc)
LESSON 4. Pupils turn to Pulse 2 page 55 amd read the instructions.
DEVELOPMENT 5. Pupils listen to an audio recording and repeat the science words in the box chorally and individually.
6. Pupils state which words are pieces of equipment that a scientist uses.
7. Pupils read the instructions for Activity 2.
8. Pupils complete 7 gap fills in the instructions for a chemical experiment with words from the blue box.
9. Pupils compare their answers in pairs.
10. Pupils listen to an audio recording to check their answers.
11. Pupils go on to Activity 3 and read the sentences first.
12. Pupils complete 5 sentences about the experiment with 5 words in the box.
13. Pupils check answers as a class.
14. Pupils proceed to Activity 4 and look at the 5 pictures first.
15. Pupils listen to a science teacher carrying out a classroom experiment.
16. Pupils put 5 steps in order.
17. Pupils listen again.
18. Pupils check answers as a class.
