TEACHING AND LEARNING STRATEGIES


1. Pupils look at the word mountains on the board.
PRE-LESSON 2. Pupils turn to Pulse 2 page 38 and look at the picture and discuss as a class why mountains can be dangerous.
3. All the possible reasons are written on the board.
4. Pupils read the information in the Writing Focus box first.
5. Pupils read the text and use the expressions in bold to complete the text and compare answers in pairs.
6. Pupils listen to an audio recording to check their answers.
7. Pupils translate the sequencing words and expressions in the Writing Focus box into their own language.
8. A few pupils share the translations with the class.
9. Pupils proceed to Activity 3 and read the story again.
10. Pupils answer 4 questions about sequencing words and phrases.
