the parents and other stakeholders.

stakeholders in school community to enable them actively participate in the continuous
improvement of the school towards the attainment of higher learners learning outcomes.
SBM is a collaborative effort among the teachers, learners, parents, and other
stakeholders, so accomplish the main goal of the SBM ( to improve school’s performance and
learners’ accomplishment) , the cooperation of everyone is very much needed.
RATIONALE
School Based Management (SBM) plays a vital role in attaining the goals and objectives
of the Department of Education. Even though it adds additional work and responsibilities on the
part of the teachers, but eventually this will make us realize that SBM provides opportunity to
school leaders boost the morale of teachers and encourages leadership at all levels. It also
allows the participation of the entire school community in designing education projects and it
also helps to address the unique needs of the school towards the improvement of the
educational system.

MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

According to Andrew Carnegie, “ Teamwork is the ability to work together
toward a common vision. The ability to direct individual accomplishments
towards organizational objectives. It is the fuel that allows common people
to attain uncommon results”, and that’s what School Based Management
all about. To achieve the mission and vision of DepEd, the involvement and
participation of school stakeholders- parents, principals, teachers, learners, and LGU are
needed for the success of the school in particular.

As a school head of Sto. Domingo ES, I am greatly honored to lead such great teachers
that devote their lives to educate our school children. At SDES, we strive to provide the best
possible education. We are committed to create a safe and positive learning environment to
promote quality education for the school clientele.

Strong parental and community support enhance the quality of education at SDES, so I
want to thank and ask our parents and other stakeholders to continue their support and help in
our journey for the accomplishment of the DepEd goals and objectives.

1. LEADERSHIP AND GOVERNANCE

Regular Meeting with Stakeholders

To understand the role of every stakeholder in the development of the learners, the
school conducted regular meetings and assembly to parents and other stakeholders. The
following listed below are the objectives of the project:

a. To orient parents about their roles and responsibilities to the school children and school
itself.
b. To encourage parents and other stakeholders participate in school activities.

School Learning Action Cell (SLAC)

Relative to the Annual School Based Learning Action Cell Plan , one of the weaknesses of the
teachers in achieving the goals and objectives of the DepEd , is lacking of knowledge of teachers
about the different strategies that develop critical and creative higher order thinking skills to
learners, so this training aims to provide helpful information and guidance to teachers in
delivering their lessons using different strategies that will help their clientele (learners) develop
higher order thinking skills (HOTS) , this Office will conduct the said school-based training

That aims to:

a. introduce and orient teachers on the different strategies that develop critical and
creative higher order thinking skills;
b. help teachers to deliver lessons that develop higher order thinking skills to
learners;
c. determine and adapt objectives and goals provided through the different
strategies that develop higher order thinking skills to learners to be incorporated
in the teaching and learning process of the teachers.

Classroom environment is very important both for the teachers and learners. The
physical structure of a classroom plays a vital part in motivating learners’ involvement in the
teaching and learning process. To make learners comfortable while doing their tasks and make
teaching and learning conducive, the school decided to use working tables for intermediate
learners instead of arm chairs.

Manipulative Instructional Materials in English

To lessen if not totally eradicate the problem of pupils in understanding what they hear and
read. The construction of manipulative instructional materials in English is a must. These help learners
to participate actively in the lesson and these will help teachers deliver their lessons efficiently and
effectively.

1. ACCOUNTABILITY AND CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT

PROJECT READ. COM

One of the major problems of the school is the poor reading comprehension of pupils.
To lessen if not totally eradicate the problem, the school came up a project READ.COM. This
project aims to help students develop their knowledge, skills and experiences for them to
become an independent learner.

PROJECT PAGASA( Perform Actively in Group and Accurately Solve

Arithmetic)
One of the major problems of the school is the large number of non-numerate pupils.
To help solve the said problem and improve the numeracy level of the learners from non-
numerates to nearly numerates and from nearly numerates to numerates, the school came up
a project entitled Project PAGASA ( Perform Actively in Group and Accurately Solve Arithmetic).
