Deaerator
Evonik offers an efficient deaerator package to prevent the formation of foams, air
inclusions, pinholes and surface defects like fish eyes and craters. The products are
intended to be used during manufacturing and/or in the application process of
unsaturated polyester and vinyl ester resins. Due to there outstanding compatibility
TEGO® Antifoam grades can combine high deaeration performance without negative
side effects.

TEGO® Antifoam D 2340

TEGO® Antifoam D 2345

Benefits:
• High deaeration/defoaming efficiency to prevent foam and bubble
formation in production and application processes
• High compatibility
• No negative side effects like surface defects as created by other additives
• Transparent application can be achieved which are important for clear
formulations or top layers
• Efficient for resins of different viscosity and styrene content

Applications:
• Casting resins, all types of polyester resins and vinyl esters
• Thixotropic top layers
• Unfilled and filled systems, e. g. CaCO3, hydroxide based flame
retardents, glass fibers

Dispersing and Antiscratch
Dispersing of a variety of fillers or glass fibers is a demanding requirement in filled
UPES and vinylester resins to balance mechanical properties, cost and special proper-
ties such as flame retardance is included by that as well. TEGOMER®/TEGOPREN®
dispersing agents allow to increase significantly the loading level of inorganic fillers
or prevent lower viscous systems against settlement of high densitiy materials to
achieve homogenous layers, e. g. artifical marble surfaces for kitchen or labs. To
prevent such surfaces or also top layers in other application against undesired loss of
quality by scratches those dispersing agents deliver a unique two in one performance
to guarantee that. Additionally they deliver internal release characteristics for better
demolding of huge parts.

TEGOMER® A-Si 2322

TEGOMER® M-Si 2650
TEGOPREN® 6875

Benefits of products used as dispersants:

• Better distribution of fillers or flame retardants
• Higher filler loading for a better cost-efficiency combined with enhanced
mechanical properties
• Prevention of settlement of high density materials in lower viscose resins
• Good demolding/ release properties without appearance of oily surfaces
• Prevention of warpage of large parts
• Better handling due to reduced viscosity of filled systems

Good and permanent scratch resistance results in a better look of manufac-
tured goods. High demanding surfaces in the surrounding of kitchens, baths
and laboratories require mar and scratch resistance against heavy or spiky
goods moved over the surface or against human nails scratching. TEGOMER®/
TEGOPREN® products implement the desired effect in the formulation and
avoid the need for additional top layers.

Benefits of products used as antiscratch additive:

• Durable and long-term stable scratch resistance
• Good demolding/ release properties
• Prevention of warpage
• Better chemical resistance and easy to clean surfaces Erichsen equipment for defined scratch

Applications:
• Grained or plain surfaces
• High filled systems
• Unfilled top layers
