SUMMARY

1. LEARN THE MOUSE TECHNIQUES


 Moving the cursor
 Mouse = move the mouse with your hand in the desired direction.
 Trackball = roll the trackball with your finger in the direction you want the
cursor to move.
 Touchpad/touchscreen = drag your finger on the pad in the direction you
want to move.
 Eraserhead = push it in the desired direction.
 Graphics tablet = touch the stylus to the pad and drag in the desired
direction.

 About button and scroll wheels


 Left button = for selects.
 Right button = displays a shortcut menu.
 Scroll wheel (roll forward and back) = scrolls the screen up and down.
 Tilt wheel (push left and right) = scrolls the screen left and right.

 About clicks and drags


 To “click” is to press a mouse button
o Single-click means to click and release.
o Double-click means to click the button twice in a row, quickly, without
pausing (usually left only).
 Drad-and-drop (or click-and-drag) means to press and hold the left button,
move the mouse while holding the button down and then releasing the
button after dragging to the desired location.

2. HOW TO USE TOUCHPAD MAGIC TRICKS


 Multi Finger Gestures
 Two-finger scrolling
The Two-Finger Scrolling feature allows you to scroll vertically or horizontally
from anywhere on the TouchPad surface. Place two fingers down on the
TouchPad and then slide them in the desired direction. You do not need to be
in a scrolling region to scroll.
 Pinch Zoom
Select the Pinch Zoom checkbox to enable the pinch gesture for zooming. Use
the tips of your fingers for best results.
 Rotating
Move two fingers clockwise or anticlockwise for desired rotation and for the
single finger rotation, nable ChiralRotate in setting of rotation.
 Three-Finger Press
When this box is checked, a three-Finger Press will launch a specified
application that launch, and click the setting button.
 Three-Finger Flick
Three-Finger Flick is to browse the internet or to scroll through photos in a
photo viewer window. And can also use to enter or exit slideshow mode from
your phone view.
 Four-Finger Flick
Vertical and horizontal four-finger flick provide convenient shortcuts for
switching applications and minimizing or restoring desktop.
 Scrolling
The scrolling features allow you to operate the scroll bars of the window
without moving the pointer away from your work. The scrolling features work
with most scrollable windows such as documents, spreadsheets, and large
digital images.
 Pointing
The pointing settings pages enable you to specify how the cursor responds to your
pointing and selection actions.
 Sensitivity
The sensitivily setting you allow to personalize the way the scroll sensor
responds to your touch.
 Momentum
The momentum feature delivers smooth, fast, trackball like mouse
movement. Momentum is ideal for Real Time Strategy (RTS) games, First
Person Shooter (FPS) games, and Role Playing Games (RPG).
 Edge Motion
It simplifies long-distance pointer motions. When your finger reaches the
edge of the Touchpad, the pointer will continue to move in the same
direction until you lift your finger.
 Accessibility
The accessibility features enable you to specify how to the pointer responds
to your pointing actions, including keeping the pointer in a window, slowing
the speed of movement.
 Smart Sense
The Accidental Contact Mitigation technology for Synaptics advanced Image Sensors.
 Tapping
A tap performs the actions of the left mouse button. Tapping means quickly
touching and then lifting of the TouchPad surface. Tap once for a single click,
or twice in rapid succession for a double-click.
 Two-Finger Tapping
Tap two fingers simultaneously anywhere on the TouchPad to perform the
same action as a secondary (right) mouse click.
 Clicking
Press anywhere on the ClickPad to perform a primary, secondary, or middle button
click. By default, pressing one finger down performs a primary click. Pressing two
fingers down performs a secondary click. Pressing three fingers down performs
middle button click.

 Enable Edge Swipes


Select the Enable Edge Swipes checkbox to enable a one-finger movement from the
edge of the TouchPad in towards the certer of the touchpad:

A. A swipe from the left edge to the center swiches from the currently open
application to the previously open application.
B. A swipe from the left edge to the center opens or closes the Charms bar.
C. A swipe from the left edge to the center opens or closes the Application Bar.

3. HOW DO TOUCHSCREENS WORK


Resistive touch screen functions to let the top of the screen that we touch come in
contact with another electric conductive layer below. If we press the screen type
with our fingers, then we can feel that the screen is slightly bent. That's what makes
it work. When we press on the top view, it comes in contact with the layer directly
below it.
That's why sometimes, especially on older displays, we have to press a little harder
to register our signatures. The layer below always has an electric current flowing
through it, when two layers touch the flow that changes.

4. LEARN THE KEYBOARD TECHNIQUES


 Typewriter Key
A typing key consists of many buttons, including:

 Tab button, to move tabs on the form fields.

 Caps lock key to activate / deactivate the capital letters feature.

 Shift key, to zoom in on one letter pressed together.

 Ctrl key, useful when combined with other keys, depends on the software used.

 Alt key also has various functions when combined with other keys.

 Enter key, perform various confirmations and add new lines to the text.
 Backspace key, deletes the character next to the cursor, also and functions as a back
button on Windows.

 Windows key, useful as a shortcut to display the start menu.

 Right-click button to display a right-click menu on the mouse.

Function Key
This function key extends from Esc and keys F1 to F12.

Navigation buttons
Consists of 4 arrow keys (left, right, up, down), insert and delete buttons, page up
and page down buttons, and home and end buttons. This navigation key is a category
of keyboard parts that can control the cursor according to the keys we press. The
insert and delete buttons have different roles, more inclined to the character editing
process (insert and delete).

 Create a virtual desktop (WINDOWS KEY + CTRL + D).
 Switch between virtual desktop (WINDOWS KEY + CTRL + F4).
 Return to the desktop from apps (WINDOWS KEY + M) or (WINDOWS KEY +
COMMA (,)).
 Open an app from the taskbar (WINDOWS KEY + 1,2,3,..,9).
 Split-screen between two apps (WINDOWS KEY + </>).
 Switch app (CTRL + ALT + TAB) or (WINDOWS KEY + TAB) or (ALT + TAB).

 Open file explorer (WINDOWS KEY + E).
 Use the magnifier (WINDOWS KEY + (+ OR -)).

 Use action center (WINDOWS KEY + A).
 Access the settings (WINDOWS KEY + I).
 Talk to cortana or siri (WINDOWS KEY + C).
 Use the windows game bar (WINDOWS KEY + G) or (WINDOWS KEY + ALT + R)
or (WINDOWS KEY + ALT + B).
 Lock down your pc (WINDOWS KEY + L).

 SATA cable
Serial Advanced Technology Attachment (SATA) cable is a computer that
connects adapters to mass storage devices such as hard disk drives.
 Remove hard drive.

 Remove mother board.
 Add memory.
 Replace the CD/DVD drive.
