1. Where does the maturation of adult worm occur?

● Upon reaching the small intestine, they develop into adult worms.

2. Why are humans a definitive host and not an intermediate host?


● Humans are considered definitive host because the parasite reaches maturity and often
reproduces (if possible) in the human body. On the other hand, an intermediate host is
usually the vector that transmits infectious agents to us humans. That is why it is unlikely
for humans to become intermediate host.

● T. solium tapeworms are similar to those of T. saginata (beef tapeworm) infection.
