According to the supplemental video from Quick Biochemistry Basics channel on Youtube I watched, the Hershey and
Chase Experiment is designed to clear the confusion between the early 20th century that protein created genetic material while
MacLeod and McCarty pronounce that DNA might act as genetic material. The experiment starts with the bacteriophage labeled as
S35 for protein (experiment 1) and P32 for DNA (experiment 2) that will yield a replication on bacterial cells. Once infection is on, they
use a blender to detach the bacteriophage that is attached to bacterial cells, and afterward, the mixture will centrifuge to detect the
presence of radioactivity. Moreover, after the detection it happens that the experiment 2 testing DNA has a bacterial pallet that is
very high in radioactivity which indicates the presence P32 present in DNA and conclude that DNA is the genetic material.
