1. Describe in detail of the definition of the descriptive and inferential


statistics.

2. Explain the definition of data (discrete and continuous), variables


(quantitative and qualitative), and dependent and independent variables.

3. Calculate the following questions using calculator and hand


calculation for small sample

The following data are marks of statistics for 9 students (sampled, Xi):
(X1 ,..., X9 ) : 8, 1, 2, 9, 3, 2, 7, 5, 2

Questions:
(a) Calculate mean, median, modus, sum and sum square of Xi, Q1, Q3, D4,
and P30.
(b) Draw the Boxplot
(c) Compute range, standard error, standard deviation, coefficient of
variance, coefficients of skewness (Karl Pearson I and II), and mean
deviation.
(d) Use STEP for determining minor outlier, are there any outliers?
(e) Draw the confidence interval for µ ± 1, µ ± 2, dan µ ± 3.
(f) Determine the percentage of real data on (e), and give the conclusion.
