Predictions
PA Anchor/Standard or 8.SP.2, MP.6, MP.7

Lesson Objectives  Students will be able to find slope using a table

 Students will be able to explain in words their process of
finding answers of problems such as finding slope or y-
intercept
 Students will be able to discern between linear and
nonlinear relationships
Materials  Go Math textbook with interactive text (displayed on
Smartboard)
 Go Math textbook with interactive text (physical copy)
 Blank scratch paper
 Chromebook
 Green workbook
Planning for Learners Differentiation: I will use process differentiation through
allowing students to access their book on their Chromebook if
they need. I will use content differentiation by giving my
students a worksheet instead of having them work out of their
book for the entire class. I will use learning environment
differentiation by allowing the students to be able to work alone
or together on certain problems. I will differentiate with learning
environment by allowing some particular students to sit by
themselves and others to sit at tables.
Modifications/Accommodations: I will walk some students
through our worksheet as the rest of the class do independent
work and group work with those at their table as some may need
extra help.
Lesson Presentation

11-22
Introduction I will put up a mashup math puzzle for the students to complete
just as a warmup to get their brain going.
Sequence of activities We will follow the warmup by going over the quick check from
including assessments the previous week. Next, I will have the students retrieve their
green workbooks and rip out page 33. I will instruct students
what problems to do and offer help if needed but then I will
release them to do some independent practice. Once I have
noticed that students are finishing up on their worksheet, we will
go over each problem in a time of discussion.

Students will be assessed formally through the green workbook

page on their ability to find slope using a table.
Students will be informally assessed on how well they can find
the slope, y-intercept, and write an equation in slope-intercept
form after given two ordered pairs.
During the independent practice I will informally asses the
students ability to distinguish between linear and nonlinear
relationships.
Lesson Wrap-up After we have gone over of the worksheet, I will have the
students complete a couple of problems I have placed on the
board to wrap everything up and give the students a little bit of
extra practice.
