The advantages and disadvantages of the mobile telephone

Today it seems that we are using mobile phones more than ever before and doctors
argue that we are getting unhealthier and lazier. Consequently , there is a great deal
of debate at the moment about the advantages and disadvantages of mobile phones.

The main advantage of using the mobile telephone is that it makes

communication with people easy. By pressing some keys on mobile, we can
contact our friends and family members at any time. Another advantage of the
mobile phone is its educational value. For example , students use their telephones
to join online classes or to find some useful information on the Internet. In
addition, the telephone provides company for people ( the elderly, for instance )
who are unable to go out and meet friends.

On the other hand, the mobile telephone does have disadvantages. Firstly, it
discourages people from taking exercise. Why go and play sport when you can sit
on your sofa playing exciting games , watching interesting films or looking
through some websites ? Secondly, the telephone discourages children from
developing their imaginations. They can spend all day playing online games or
watching videos on You Tube and as a result they do not invent their own games
or play with other children.

To sum up , probably the best that we can do is to use our mobile telephones
sensibly. In spite of all its disadvantages, there is no doubt that it is here to stay.
