MS/MD/MDS Programs in medical

institutions of the Punjab
The Punjab Residency Program is an Initiative of the Government of Punjab under the
leadership of Chief Minister, Punjab. It has been established with the objective of providing
equal opportunities to talented doctors for pursuing quality medical education in the Punjab
province on merit.
Applications are invited from eligible candidates for Joint Centralized Admission Test
(JCAT) for induction in Master of Surgery (MS), Doctor of Medicine (MD) and Master of
Dental Surgery (MDS) programs being offered in various institutions of the Punjab.

(A) GENERAL CLAUSES:

1. The validity of passed test is for three years from the date of appearance in the
test.
2. The candidate who wants to improve his/her percentage will also be encouraged.
If he/she fails or cannot improve percentage in the subsequent examination,
his/her previous result shall remain valid.
3. It is responsibility of applicant to ensure his/her eligibility before applying.
4. The fee once deposited is non-refundable/non-transferable.

(B) ELIGIBILITY:
• MBBS/BDS from recognized Institution / College / University of HEC/PM&DC/ PMC.
• One year house job from recognized Institution/Hospital of HEC/PM&DC/PMC.
• CNIC/Passport, Domicile certificate.
• The candidate (Pakistani National) must have permanent or provisional valid
registration with Pakistan Medical & Dental Council/Pakistan Medical Commission.

• In case of foreign national; the candidate will be provisionally allowed for Joint
Centralized Admission Test (JCAT).
• Appearing/passing entry test without eligibility or on false information will lead to
legal action/disqualification from entrance test/induction at any stage.

(C) ENTRANCE TEST

(a) Written Examination (125 MCQs) without negative marking. Total 250 marks, 2
mark for each MCQ.
(b) Written Examination will be held on Sunday, 12 March, 2023. (Venue and time
of Examination will be mentioned on Admittance Card.
(c) Passing marks of entry test are 60%.
(d) Pattern of question paper is also available on (www.kemu.edu.pk)
(e) Passing the entrance test does not confer, in itself, any right of getting admission
into MS/MD/MDS Program.

 ii. Following steps should be followed by the candidates: A.

Step 1: Candidate will have to register on the web portal by using their email and
CNIC (for Pakistan Nationals) / Passport No. (in case of foreigner). He/She will be
required to verify his/her email address by using the steps mentioned in the first
email received by the candidate at the time of registration. After successful

verification of email, he/she will receive another email containing Login credentials
(Login ID / Password). He/she will use those credentials Ito Login to the portal for
following procedure.
Step 2: Generate / Print Bank Challan after filling in required information (for
example Name, CNIC, Passport, Email). Deposit the examination fee in any Branch
of NBP (National Bank of Pakistan). (Only KEMU web generated bank challan is
acceptable)
Step 3: Upload the scanned copy of paid Challan into the portal.
Step 4: Fill the online application form and upload the scanned copies of all the
original documents mentioned on the portal and submit the online application.
iii. Online application form with single fee (Rs.6000/-) will be submitted from Wednesday
01 February 2023 to Friday 10 February 2023 03:00 PM.
iv. Online application form with double fee (Rs.12000/-) will be accepted till
Wednesday 15 February 2023 03:00 PM.
v. No application will be entertained after Wednesday 15 February, 2023.
vi. Each applicant shall have single option to choose city of the Examination
Center ie Lahore or Multan. Once city option is opted, it shall not be changed
under any circumstances.
vii. Incomplete forms will be rejected.
viii. Admittance Card / Roll No. Slip will be issued online through the portal after
verification of the documents and-application form.
