GEOGRAPHY

What is geography? The word geography comes from the Greek language
which means geo(s) which is the earth and graphien which means to explain and
describe, or we can say by describing the earth. In general, geography is a
science that studies and explains about the earth, not only that, geography also
studies natural phenomena and human activities in daily life.
According to geographers, there are 4 stages of scientific development, as in
first,classical geography, second medieval geography,third modern geography
and geografi mutakhir. Geography also has 4 principles that are useful for
analyzing phenomena that occur on earth.
There are two aspects studied in geography, first the physical aspect and second
social aspect. the physical aspect is the geosphere phenomenon which is related
to natural conditions, the shape of the earth's surface, waters and so on while the
social aspect discusses social problems related to humans as social beings.
There are several subjects that related with geography and can supports
geography which is:
1. Geology studies the structure and processes of the earth's development
2. Geomorphology is the study of the origin of forms on the earth's surface
3. Meteorology studies the weather conditions
4. soils learn about soil classification
5. Climatology studies climate
6. oceanography studies the oceans
7. Hydrology studies the state of water on earth
8. Cartography is about mapping
those are some of the sciences studied in geography.

by studying geography we can implement How we conserve nature and at least


we can helps our old earth to maintain its sustainability with that our efforts to
protect the earth can turned to be benefit human or our life and future
generations
indirectly with us studying geography we also gain knowledge about what is on
earth and beyond the earth because geography studies everything, for example,
geography talks about the lithosphere, hydrosphere, biosphere, and
anthroposphere.
lithosphere is the study of the earth's crust which discusses the movement of
plates, then the hydrosphere discusses water or water layers on earth, then there
is the biosphere which discusses life on earth such as humans, plants, animals so
geography does not discuss nature or the earth only, but living things on earth
also discussed in geography, last but not least there is an anthroposphere of
science that discusses about humans
