GRAMMAR PRACTICE

ACTIVITY UNIT 1
Task 1:
1. Watch the video Relative pronouns- Defining relative clauses
(https://youtu.be/mTwQz1e0Fgs) to understand the use.
2. Practice the activities on page: (https://www.ego4u.com/en/cramup/grammar/relative-
clauses/exercises?02)
3. Create a video and answer those questions:
Who´s your closest friend? How did you meet?
My closest friend is my ex-sister-in-law who has been with me at all times. She is my best friend
because she listens to me and also gives me advice, whose purpose is to help me be a better
person.
I met her several years ago because of who my husband was. And more than a friendship we are
like sisters and usually she is the one who calms me down.
How many Friends do you have on social networks?
Really in my social networks I have many followers, but very few friends. I am the type of
person who does not like to have many friends. I prefer few good friends with whom I can
establish better relationships.
Who were your Friends when you were growing up?
I grew up with my cousins and in reality at home we were not allowed to go outside. And
actually I don't remember much about the children who went to school with me when I was little,
because I always spent more time with my family.
Do you have any Friends that have exciting lives? Explain why?
Yes. I have a friend who has been to sports competitions, which he has won several times. He
practices high-intensity sports and has been out of the country.
He is the one who has taught me to lead a life with healthy habits that have kept me active and in
good health.

Making it up – story
Sarah had a problem
For a long time Sarah wanted to go out with a very handsome man called James, and then one
day he turned up at her door. Just like that! She asked him in.
James took his coat off and sat down. Then he explained that while driving past her house his
car broke down. It was outside. Sarah said James could call out a mechanic and she looked up
the nearest garage in the phone book. She offered him a cup of tea. He accepted. But then she
realized there was no milk. “We’ve run out of milk” she said and popped out to buy some
more. While Sarah was away the mechanic turned up. He got on with mending the car and
James watched.
When it was mended James got in his car and drove away. In the shop Sarah suddenly
remembered her little baby sister who she was looking after was at home. She ran back to the
house and saw that James had left. Her little sister was crying inside, and she had no keys!
