1. Review housework vocabulary by playing a miming game.
Pre-lesson 2. Say the housework activities.
3. Pupils listen and mime the activities.
4. Activity 1:
a. Direct pupils’ attention to the pictures and have them to identify the different jobs. (SB pg 26)
b. Distribute worksheet. Play CD track 35.
c. Pupils listen and match the three children to the corresponding housework. (Assessment)
d. Have pupils compare their answers in pairs first, then check as a class.
5. Activity 2:
a. Have pupils answer the questions about themselves.
Lesson delivery b. Inside outside circle: In concentric circles, pupils rotate to face new partners and then take turns to ask
and answer the same questions. (Assessment)
6. Activity 3:
a. Put photocopies of the flashcards in a box and the word cards in a different box.
b. Divide the class in half. Half of the class will draw a flashcard from the box with the photocopied
flashcards without showing it to the rest of the class.
c. The other half will draw a word card from the other box.
d. Pupils must try and find their pair by going around and asking What do you have to do at home?
7. Ask pupils to think about their learning and performance in this unit.
Post lesson 8. They then complete the self-assessment worksheet.
9. Collect the worksheets from pupils and review them to note pupils’ responses. If there are any areas of
concern, prepare a review of these in upcoming lessons.

1. Review vocabulary from previous lesson.


Pre-lesson
2. Show vocabulary flashcards and have pupils say the words.
3. Activity 1:
a. Write some new words from the previous lesson on the board, including some verbs.
b. Ask pupils to identify two or three they don’t remember well.
c. Have them check the meaning in the dictionary in pairs.
4. Activity 2:
Lesson delivery a. Give a few examples of ancient cultures in and around Malaysia. (wayang kulit, head hunting,
Thaipusam etc)
b. Think pair share: Pupils think on their own of ancient cultures in and around Malaysia that they know.
c. Introduce the past forms of irregular verbs if necessary.
d. Using the verbs in Simple Past Tense, have pupils work in pairs to say sentences about ancient cultures
in and around Malaysia. (Assessment)
e. Choose a few pairs to present their discussions.
5. Line jumping: Draw a straight line on the floor. (Refer to TB pg 49 Optional Activity)
Post lesson 6. Say sentences from the quiz. If they are correct, pupils should jump to the right. If they are wrong, pupils
should jump to the left.
7. Whoever jumps to the wrong side is out of the game or just misses a turn.
