Introduction

A new stage has begun in the life of each of the people who are part of the

Strategic Management course in which some concepts will be given that must be

internalized and applied in an analysis exercise of a pioneering company in the field of

technological innovation and that its main activity is the manufacture of photocopiers.

Next, you will find the recognition activity of the course and an analysis exercise

on the plans and strategies used by the Xerox Company for a period of three years.
Objetives

• Carry out a survey of all course environments, download and analyze the

subject matter in the Learning Environment

• Internalize the theme related to Strategy Management and apply it to a daily

business context and how it influences its leadership.

• Carry out an analysis on a text called "Xerox describes the next three years of

the company's strategy and corporate plans" and identify how the concepts of

strategy management are applied in said company.

Paragraph 1: What is Xeroxmand what is its main activity?

Xerox is a multinational company created on April 18, 1906, founded by Joseph

C Wilson, but its inventor was Chester Carlson. At first, a company that

manufactured paper and photographic equipment was known as Haloid, but in

1959, it launched its first photocopier that used the method called Xerography,

the Xerox 914. (ECURED, s.f.)

It was a pioneer in the world of technology thanks to his advances in the world

of dry copying activity, which was very necessary for the activities that were

carried out in offices. Xerox is listed as the founding company of photocopiers

and since its inception has been dedicated to the manufacture of photocopiers.

Paragraph 2: What do you thing is the goal of defining the strategic direction of

a Company?

The objective of defining the strategic direction of a company is to have a person


responsible for the actions taken to formulate the specific strategies of the

organization, in this way a course will be set to fulfill the goals according to the

planning carried out and the strategies proposed to achieve the objectives and

thus achieve that the company is at a level of competitiveness with other

companies. It is extremely important to define the strategic direction since the

development of the corporate values of the organization, the managerial

capacities, the organizational responsibilities are part of its objectives and it

operates at all hierarchical levels.

Paragraph 3: What are the main concepts describe ode tha strategic

management developed in Xerox?

The main concepts that describe the strategic management developed at Xerox

is a business strategy through which it sought to increase the price of its shares,

reduce expenses, improve its position in the market and achieve, through

continuous improvement, the efficiency of a high-end company. Level of

business competitiveness. In the same way, the Xerox company applies the

corporate strategy so that through its portfolio of resources and the activities it

develops, it achieves the goals that are set and for this it has created a new

slogan "With a history in the design of innovative technologies, Xerox he's' made

to think 'to get his customers' attention. "

Paragraph 4: What is teh importance of outlining the company´s strategy and

plans?

The importance of outlining the strategy and plans of the company is because in

this way a work route is established for the achievement of goals and objectives,
taking advantage of opportunities, being able to face threats, improving

weaknesses using resources optimally and reinforce the strengths you have. If

the company does not have a work route, the employees will not work as a team,

do not open a coordination to execute the plans and they will not know what are

the strategies set by senior management to achieve that the company improves

in all senses, that is to say reach a competitive level at the business level so that

the company can continue to operate.

Conclusión

As a conclusion to the previous activity, it helps that as future engineers we know

how strategic management is essential and important in an organization to achieve its

goals and objectives, since if there is no strategy to know what should be done, how it
should be done and what not to do, companies would be a failure which implies the

elimination of it.
