Ludhiana occupies a vital position in the industrial scenario of Punjab and even India. It is even called the
industrial capital of Punjab. Ludhiana is one of the principal producers of woolen and acrylic knitwear,
apart from it also uses cotton and blended fiber to produce hosiery,
knitwear and various ready-made garments
Ludhiana contributes to nearly 21% of all the industries and more than 28% of the output of Punjab.
The textile industry in Ludhiana makes use of both natural fibers like cotton,
silk, jute and wool and artificial fibers such as polyester, viscose, nylon,
acrylic and blended fibers
 Need of project:
 Bagru printing is one of the traditional techniques of printing with natural colour followed by the
chippas of a remote place of Rajasthan.

 But this technique is facing problems against the threat of globalization; this exotic art of creation
is required to be encouraged in the present context of environmental consciousness.

 The local artisans of this village and their art form have not been recognized on a very good level in
our country and also to bring this village into limelight by increasing tourism.

 Objective of project
 To engage tourist and local people by creating a hub where they can make learn and educate
each other.

 To identify the cultural heritage values& potential of the village in order to address them with
best possible results.

 They can also conduct their own workshop where people can learn about this or art or also buy
their products.

 Validity of project
9 heritage zones identified in the Master Plan 2025

1. In Regard to potential tourism sites in region, a tourism zone has been identified in the region
for the promotion and encouragement. All tourism and allied activities would be housed with
better level of infrastructure and eco-friendly concept.
2. As Jaipur and as such Rajasthan is famous for its handicrafts, tourism oriented toward the
development of such crafts villages wherein people can watch the craftsmen at work need to
be developed.

 About site:
