MAKING WIRE SPLICES AND JOINTS

PROJECT/ACTIVITY PLAN #1

I.OBJECTIVES :
After preparing electrical tools and wires, the students are expected to:
1. Identify electrical supplies, materials, and tools.
2. Demonstrate the skills in making wire splices and joints.
3. Explain the importance of tools, wires, and supplies used in electrical
work.
II. MATERIALS/TOOLS NEEDED

B. TOOLS NEEDED:
1. Combination Pliers
2. Side Cutting Pliers
3. Long Nose Pliers
4. Wire Stripper
III. PROCEDURE
1. Prepare all the electrical supplies, materials, and tools needed for the
actual making of wire splices and joints.
2. Cut the electrical wire into the required length of 6 inches each wire
to start the wire splicing.
3. Cut the insulator of the wire that needs to be spliced and joint.
4. Hold the two unskinned wire with two pliers to start the splicing
proper.
5. Rotate and twist the wires and tools until a required splice and joint
will be formed.
6. Follow the prescribed splice and joint formation for every wire to e
spliced until all forms of splices will be finished.
7. Fasten and place the finished splice and joint on the board with label.
8. Submit the finished project for rating.
