2. PAGE 2: BACKGROUND INFORMATION

Mental health includes our emotions, psychological and social well-being. It affects
how we think, feel and act. It also helps describe how we handle stress, relate to
others and make healthy choices. Mental health is important at every stage of life
from childhood to adolescence and through adulthood
3. PAGE 3: OBJECTIVES
i. To promote mental health though public education and sensitization
ii. To eliminate the stigma associated with mental illness
iii. To improve the efficiency in the delivery of mental health care.

4. PAGE 4: JUSTIFICATION
Mental health is an issue that affects everyone either young or old and many people
tend to ignore due to lack of knowledge. This proposal aims to sensitize people about
mental health in general. There are different types of mental illness with each having
signs and symptoms which people should be educated on. People need to love and
appreciate people living with mental illnesses and avoid stigmatizing them since it is
curable. Mental illnesses can be caused by day to day challenges eg trauma, and
anxiety.

5. PAGE 5: SCRIPT/TREATMENT
The production will consist of interviews each highlighting a different aspect of
mental health. The experts will explain more on mental health issues and also people
who’ve lived with the experiences will also have the chance to offer their insights.
The interviews will be designed to be both informative and engaging and it’ll be
achieved by using a variety of storytelling techniques to bring the issues to life.

6. PAGE 6: MENTAL HEALTH SYNOPSIS

Mental health being an essential topic which affects everyone, it has to be looked into
and sensitization amongst the members of the public is required, by this project, we
aim to reach out to the public much easier by making them understand what mental
health awareness really is and how to deal with people living with mental related
illness and the challenges that thy face. The documentary will cover all aspects that
are concerned with mental health and help the public to have a better understanding of
it.
