FATTY ACID

- It exists naturally in small amounts in some meat and dairy products. However, they’re also
artificially added to many foods as partially hydrogenated oil, because it spoils more slowly than
similar products.

- TRANS FAT IS CONSIDERED THE WORST TYPE OF FAT YOU CAN EAT. UNLIKE OTHER DIETARY FATS,
TRANS FAT — ALSO CALLED TRANS-FATTY ACIDS — RAISES YOUR "BAD" CHOLESTEROL AND ALSO
LOWERS YOUR "GOOD" CHOLESTEROL.
- A DIET LADEN WITH TRANS FAT INCREASES YOUR RISK OF HEART DISEASE, THE LEADING KILLER OF
ADULTS.

*Found in fried foods, commercial baked goods, processed food and margarine.

* They may be particularly dangerous for heart health and may pose a risk for certain cancers.
Hydrogenated fats are used in stick margarine, fast foods, commercial baked goods (donuts,
cookies, crackers), and fried foods.

*The more Trans fat you eat, the greater your risk of heart and blood vessel disease.Tran’s fat is so
unhealthy that the Food and Drug Administration has recently prohibited food manufacturers from
adding the major source of artificial Trans fat to foods and beverages.
