Research and Proposal Writing in The Sciences 2022 - Merit
The course consisted of six units: (1) Understanding previous research; (2) Knowing the ethics of research; (3) Preparing to write
your research paper; (4) Writing your research paper; (5) Publishing your paper in a peer-reviewed journal; and (6) Basics of writing a
grant proposal.
Course duration: 6 September to 31 October 2022 (eight weeks). Average study time: 32 hours.
Grade: Merit. Criteria for achieving this grade: (a) going through the learning resources; (b) achieving a passing score on the quiz in
each unit; (c) completing the post-course survey; and (d) completing at least one of the two applied writing activities in the course
(research abstract and/or short grant proposal).
