Jesus healed sick people and fed hungry people.

He loved outcasts and taught everyone about God’s kingdom,

but the religious leaders didn’t like His teaching and were jealous of Him. They hated Jesus so much that they
decided to have Him killed. They gave thirty pieces of silver to Judas, one of Jesus’ disciples, to hand over Jesus
to them. Then Jesus and His disciples celebrated the Passover and while they are eating Jesus said that one of
them will betray Him. Surprisingly they each replied saying that it will not be one of them who’s going to betray
Him. Jesus assured that it is true that someone who was with them while eating will betray Him. Judas was also
one of them claiming that it is not him, but Jesus knew it saying that he should go and do it quickly, since then
Judas left. Jesus took bread and thanked God for it. He broke it, gave it to His disciples as a symbol that when
they eat it, Jesus will be remembered since it’s His body given by us. Jesus also picked up the cup and thanked
God. He said that it is His blood that poured out so that sins may be forgiven. Jesus and His disciple were done
eating, so they decided to go to the garden of Gethsemane to pray while they sang a hymn together.

The religious leaders told the governor, Pilate that Jesus was dangerous and wanted to be king. Pilate asked
Jesus is their accusations are true, but Jesus replied that He was a King but not of this world. Pilate insist that
Jesus was innocent and there’s no reason to kill Him so will let Him be free, but the crowd also insisted in
shouting to kill Him. So, Pilate had his soldiers whip Jesus. They forced a thorny crown on His head then they laid
a wooden cross on His back and led Him up a Hill. There on that hill, the roman soldiers nailed Jesus to the cross,
hands and feet then they also raised it high. Jesus hung there between two criminals.

Around noon, the sky turned dark and Jesus’ friends wept. The religious leaders laughed saying that Jesus saved
other people, yet he cannot save Himself. Jesus response by talking to His father in heaven asking to forgive
them. The time came for Jesus to die, then he closed His eyes and spoke “It is finished”. He had completed what
He had to do because of His great love.

One of Jesus’ followers, a man named joseph, put Jesus’ body in a brand-new tomb. He rolled a huge stone in
front of it and a long sad Friday was over.

Jesus before Pilate

When Jesus was brought before the governor, they asked Him if He was the King of
the Jews, and Jesus was certain, telling them that he had said so. Jesus was accused
by the chief priests and the elders, yet He did not answer. Then Pilate asked Him
about how the people were making their testimony against Him, but still, He had no
reply, not even to a single charge, so the governor was greatly amazed.
At the feast, the governor was used to releasing any prisoner the crowd desired, and
they had a notorious prisoner named Barabbas at the time. When the crowd had
gathered, Pilate asked them, "Which one do you want me to release to you: Jesus
Barabbas or Jesus who is called the Messiah?". He knew that it was out of envy that
they had delivered him up. Besides, while he was sitting on the judgment seat, his
wife sent word to him, "Have nothing to do with that righteous man, for I have
suffered much because of him today in a dream." Now, the chief priests and the
elders persuaded the crowd to ask for Barabbas and destroy Jesus. The governor
again said to them, "Which of the two do you want me to release for you?" And they
said, "Barabbas." Pilate said to them, "Then what shall I do with Jesus, who is called
Christ?" They all said, "Let him be crucified!" and he said, "Why?" "What evil has
he done?" But they shouted more, "Let him be crucified!" But they shouted all the
louder, "Crucify him!" Pilate saw that he was getting nowhere but that instead, an
uproar was starting, so he took water and washed his hands in front of the crowd. "I
am innocent of this man’s blood," he said. "It is your responsibility!" All the people
answered, "His blood is on us and our children!" Then he released Barabbas to them.
But he flogged Jesus and handed him over to be crucified.

The soldiers mock Jesus.

Then the governor’s soldiers took Jesus into the Praetorium, or the governor’s
headquarters, and gathered the whole company of soldiers around Him. They
stripped Him and put a scarlet robe on Him, and then they twisted together a crown
of thorns and set it on His head. They put a staff in His right hand. Then they
kneeled in front of Him and mocked Him. "Hail, king of the Jews!" they said. They
spit on Him and took the staff and struck Him on the head again and again. After
they had mocked Him, they took off the robe and put his clothes on Him. Then they
led Him away to crucify Him
.
The Crucifixion of Jesus
As they were going out, they met a man from Cyrene named Simon, and they forced
Him to carry the cross. They came to a place called Golgotha, which means "the
place of the skull." There they offered Jesus wine to drink, mixed with gall; but after
tasting it, he refused to drink it. When they had crucified Him, they divided up his
clothes by casting lots, and sitting down, they kept watch over Him there. Above his
head, they placed the written charge against Him: "This is Jesus, the King of the
Jews."
The two rebels were also crucified with Him, one on his right and one on his left.
Those who passed by hurled insults at Him, shaking their heads and saying, "You
who are going to destroy the temple and build it in three days, save yourself!" They
also mock Him, claiming that if He is God, He should die on the cross. In the same
way, the chief priests, the teachers of the law, and the elders mocked Him. "He
saved others," they said, "but he can’t save Himself!" He’s the king of Israel! Let
him come down now from the cross, and we will believe in Him. He trusts in God.
Let God rescue Him now if he wants Him, for He said, "I am the Son of God." In the
same way, the rebels who were crucified with Him also heaped insults on Him.

The Death of Jesus

From noon until three in the afternoon, darkness came over all the land. About three
in the afternoon, Jesus cried out in a loud voice, "Eli, Eli,
[c] lema sabachthani?" (which means "My God, my God, why have you forsaken
me?") When some of those standing there heard this, they said, "He’s calling
Elijah." Immediately, one of them ran and got a sponge. He filled it with wine
vinegar, put it on a staff, and offered it to Jesus to drink. The rest said, "Now leave
him alone; let’s see if Elijah comes to save him." And when Jesus cried out again in
a loud voice, he gave up his spirit. At that moment, the curtain of the temple was
torn in two from top to bottom. The earth shook, the rocks split, and the tombs broke
open. The bodies of many holy people who had died were raised to life. They came
out of the tombs after Jesus’ resurrection and went into the holy city, where they
appeared to many people. When the centurion and those with him, who were
guarding Jesus, saw the earthquake and all that had happened, they were terrified
and exclaimed, "Surely he was the Son of God!" Many women were there, watching
from a distance. They had followed Jesus from Galilee to care for his needs. Among
them were Mary Magdalene, Mary, the mother of James and Joseph, and the mother
of Zebedee’s sons.

The Burial of Jesus

As evening approached, there came a rich man from Arimathea named Joseph, who
had himself become a disciple of Jesus. Going to Pilate, he asked for Jesus’ body,
and Pilate ordered that it be given to him. Joseph took the body, wrapped it in a
clean linen cloth, and placed it in the new tomb that he had cut out of the rock. He
rolled a big stone in front of the entrance to the tomb and went away. Mary
Magdalene and the other Mary were sitting there, opposite the tomb.
