SCENE 1

EXT: LEAVING HOUSE, MORNING

Door slams shut and keys rattle in pocket. The car starts up and
ETHAN checks his watch and looks rushed.
EXT: PAVEMENT ON STREET, MORNING
ETHAN runs holding a bag and packing in his hoodie in as he runs.
EXT: BUILDING, MORNING
ETHAN is seen through the window of a building running towards the
exit. ETHAN leaves the building.
ETHAN (voice over):
I'm always late. Ever since I was young, late to lesson,
late to practice.
EXT: PARK, MORNING
ETHAN is still running. He runs through the park.
ETHAN (voice over):
Late to my driving lessons, gym, interviews, you name
it.
EXT: OUTSIDE A FLOWER SHOP, MORNING
ETHAN runs past the flowers and then walks backwards to pick one up.
INT: IN A FLOWER SHOP, MORNING
ETHAN Pays for the flower and hands over some coins.
EXT: RANDOM STREET, MORNING
ETHAN runs to the edge of the street.
ETHAN (voice over):
But this, this I won't be late for. I'm gonna ask her
out. Today.
ETHAN turns the corner and sees the girl he likes, AVA, laughing and
hugging TOM on a bench. He looks upset and defeated. He drops the
flowers into the bin.
SCENE 2
INT: BEDROOM, AFTERNOON
ETHAN is swinging on his chair chucking up a paper ball in the air.
He throws that into the bin.
ETHAN (voice over):
 How was I too late with this. It’s fine, she would have
probably said no anyway. Saved myself the embarrassment,
right? Yeah. Yeah, that’s it.

ETHAN slides chair over to computer and types in AVA’s name into
Instagram. He is scrolling through her account and sees a post with
the caption saying that she loves Taylor Swift.

ETHAN (voice over):

Taylor Swift? Eesh. Wait, could buy us concert tickets
and pretend like I had a spare ticket. She can’t ay no
to that right?

ETHAN opens a new tab and adds two tickets to his basket.

ETHAN (voice over):

Nah, nah. What am I doing. This is, uh. This is too far.
She has a boyfriend. That’s okay. I’m okay. Yeah, no
big deal.

EXT: RANDOM PAVEMENT, AFTERNOON

ETHAN walks down the road and sees a poster saying to ‘nothing going
your way? Call this number today’. He looks at the photo and walks
past it. The shot stays on the poster and ETHAN walks back into
frame. He takes the poster off the wall and walks away and dials in
the number.
AUTOMATED VOICE ON PHONE:
Hello. You have reached White Rooms. Please be aware you
are only able to ring this line once per person. Click 1
to book an appointment with us for a later time or if you
would like to speak now click 2. ETHAN clicks 2.

INT: WHITE ROOM

ETHAN teleports into a new location, his outfit has also changed,
and he is wearing white clothes. He starts hitting the walls trying
to get out.

AUTOMATED VOICE:
 Please calm down. You are in a safe environment. What
would you like?

ETHAN:
What? What would I like?

AUTOMATED VOICE:
Please calm down. You are in a safe environment. What
would you like?

ETHAN:
I’d like a lot of things. Starting off with a coffee, a
job, I’d like a girlfrien-

AUTOMATED VOICE:
Coffee. Thank you for your wish. You may now leave.

EXT: RANDOM PAVEMENT, AFTERNOON

ETHAN is teleported back into the street and a coffee appears into
his hands.
ETHAN:
There is no way in hell that just happened. Either I’m
going insane or, no it can’t be.

ETHAN hits the brick wall he teleported into trying to go through

it, but it does not work.

INT: IN BEDROOM, MORNING

ETHAN is sat on his bed staring at the telephone number again. He is
debating whether to call it because it says you can only ring the
line once per person. He dials in the numbers and waits for the call
to pick up.
AUTOMATED VOICE:
Hello Ethan. You were informed to only call this line
once. How can I help.
 ETHAN:
I want Ava to be my girlfriend.

AUTOMATED VOICE:
As you wish, you may now leave.

ETHAN is sat on his bed and Ava appear into his room. It is an AI
version of Ava not the real person.

ETHAN:
Ava. Hi?

AI AVA:
Hi Ethan. You look stresses, what is wrong.

ETHAN:
Nothing. Are you real

AI AVA:
Yes. I am real. I am yours.

INT: IN COFFE SHOP, MORNING

AI AVA:
Such a lovely view in the morning. Don’t you agree?

ETHAN:
Yeah, it is. Will you excuse me one second

AI AVA:
What is wrong Ethan.
ETHAN notices that a coffee cup is blacked out, almost like a glitch
in the system. It looks like a black hole and he realises that it
must have something to do with the wish he wished for.

EXT: PAVEMENT, MORNING

ETHAN runs towards AVA’s house and knocks on her door in a rush.

AVA:
What are you-

ETHAN:
Oh thank god you’re alright.

AVA looks down at her hand and notices her hand is blacked out (just
like the coffee cups). ETHAN looks down and sees it too.

ETHAN:
Oh please no, no, no. This is not happening.

AVA:
Please tell me what is going on.

ETHAN runs away from AVA’s front door in a panic.

AVA:
ETHAN!!!

EXT: PAVEMENT, MORNING

ETHAN dials the number and is waiting for the phone to pick up. He
taps his foot nervously.

AUTOMATED VOICE:
Hello!
 ETHAN:
Can you explain what is happening please. Something is
not right.

AUTOMATED VOICE:
You did this to yourself. You wanted more, we take more.
You were warned. Were you not?

ETHAN:
I’m sorry. How can I make it right?

AUTOMATED VOICE:
You did this to yourself. You wanted more, we take more.
You were warned. Were you not? WERE YOU NOT?!

ETHAN looks down at his hands and sees his vision become blurred.
The floor starts changing colours and the world around him begins to
fall apart and glitch. Eventually everything becomes a black hole
and he is consumed by it.
