TITLE:
STAR Program: Sipnayan Training, Activities, Remediation Program

RATIONALE:
Any educator is aware that teacher's success in the classroom cannot be predicted just by
their competence. The subject of Mathematics is not well-liked. It can generate worry and even
panic in students, especially when they don't get the expected academic outcomes. They run
into problems not only because they don't understand the fundamentals of Math, but also
because they can't effectively apply what they know to new situations.
It is important to develop ways to persuade students of the value of utilizing thinking
skills that may at first appear unusual and unpleasant if we want to help them all reach their full
potential as thinkers. This requires more than the simply teaching students in the classroom. An
effective strategy means selecting the tools and activities that will most effective for each of our
pupils.
The Sipnayan, Training, Activities and Remediation (STAR) program of the Mathematics
Department is for the augmentation of those students that are Mathematically handicapped, to
undergo remediation after failing the subject (quarterly), and to enhance those students who hae
high Mathematical potential to compete with other schools.

OBJECTIVES
This program aims to:
 Assist students who have failed behind their academics as much as feasible
and reintegrate them as much as possible into the regular classes
 Reconstruct and-reestablish the basics of foundation of Mathematics
 Increase level of understanding of Mathematically inclined students to give
them a stronger foundation for future Mathematics Competitions

 Strengthen their knowledge skills and attitude towards Mathematics


RESOURCES

Facilitate learning necessities the use of teaching tools, teaching aids, and visual
materials. Teachers are relieved by these. The Overhead Projector (OHP), is one such teaching
tool that has become a standard requirement for educators in the 21 st Century. Another is,
collapsible tables that may use during sit-down trainings, and then can be easily removed and
stored out of the way when open space is needed. As a result, it is respectfully requested that
the STAR Program received at least one unit of Overhead Projector and Collapsible tables.
