CONTENT STANDARD:

Demonstrates an understanding of knowledge and skills in identifying basic kitchen utensils to use
in cooking at home.
PERFORMANCE STANDARD:

Performs necessary learning in using basic kitchen utensils.

LESSON OVERVIEW
Students’ uses basic kitchen utensils in an appropriate and safe way. Students’ will be able to
identify which particular utensil to use that is commonly found in the home. Students’ can make
food on their own without struggling on what utensil to use.
LESSON OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson the students will be able to:

⮚ Values the uses and importance of the kitchen utensils.

Motivation

● Are you familiar with the different materials of kitchen utensils commonly found in the
kitchen? (The teacher will show pictures to the students)
● Do you know the uses of them?
● What can you say about the pictures?

Activities
On your ¼ sheet of paper, list down all the utensils you can find in your kitchen and what kind of
kitchen materials. (At least 5 kitchen utensils).

Abstraction

● For you as a student how is it important to know the different materials of kitchen utensils
and tools in your daily life?
● If you were given a chance to create new tools and equipment what would it be? How will
people use it?

Application
The class will be divided into 3 groups. (The teacher will give each group some pictures of kitchen
utensils and then they will identify and raise the correct answer based on what kind of utensils is
being stated on the slides). Each group will be given points for the correct answers.

Assessment
The class will be divided into 5 groups consisting of 7 members. They prepare a skit or role play
showing the proper use of kitchen tools and equipment.

Assignment
⮚ Research additional kitchen utensils that are commonly found in the kitchen.

⮚ Bring at least 10 pictures of different equipment found in the kitchen.
