· Facilitated one-on-one academic advising sessions for incoming freshman majoring in various programs throughout the
college.
 Effectively worked, communicated, and trained under the Director of College of Health and Human Sciences Advising and six
full-time academic advisors.
· Advised and counseled incoming freshman of all necessary requirements and prerequisite courses needed for admission into
competitive programs such as Nursing and Medical Laboratory Science.
· Shadowed six full-time advisors within the college as they conducted academic advising sessions, learning and observing
multiple different advising styles, approaches, and skills.
· Assisted advisors in preparing individualized academic plans for incoming freshman and transfer students utilizing systems
such as OnBase and Peoplesoft.
· Communicated the curriculum and necessary graduation requirements for their specific major, the college, and university-
wide requisites.
· Maintained timely, accurate, clear, and confidential advising-related communications, notes, records, and reports through the
Navigate online system.
· Referred students to various campus and community resources or involvements as necessary.

College of Business Advising Intern

· Observed over 70 academic advising sessions and two probationary meetings with various advisors in the college.
· Received training on the different resources across the university, their location, and their primary functions.
· Conducted a calling campaign of over 140 students, providing them with assistance in removing holds from their MyNIU
system to become eligible for Fall course enrollment.
· Implemented a communication plan for multiple points of contact to over 150 freshmen and transfer students admitted for the
Fall of 2021 though the Navigate communication system.
· Studied assigned readings regarding topics such as NACADA Advising theories, core competencies, and student development
theories.

LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCE
Graduate Assistant for Housing and Residential Services - Residential Facilities
Northern Illinois University, August 2021-Present
· Collaboratively work with an Assistant Director and co-Graduate Assistant to recruit, hire, train, and supervise six to eight
student employees on the function of the Work Request Office.
· Directly work with two Facilities Coordinators, Assistant Director for Residential Facilities, and Executive Director of
Housing.
· Oversee daily maintenance work order requests that are submitted online, over the phone, and in person within the residence
hall and apartment program serving over 3,800 students. Work orders must be scrutinized for accurate and proper routing to
the appropriate university trade professionals.
· Assisted with planning and implemented the annual training for 125 Community Advisors regarding the facilities area of the
department, and the work order processing system.
· Process key and damage billing through Mercury system.
· Prioritize and delegate daily tasks to our student employees to be completed.
· Schedule and facilitate bi-weekly one-on-one meetings with student workers to provide support, professional feedback,
personal development, and assistance with academic needs.
· Assist with the inventory control processes to trach furniture and other assets across residence halls and apartments.
Responsible for submitting finalized reports and forms to Property Control with itemized yearly inventory.
· Communicate and effectively work with campus partners such as the university Heating Plant, Physical Plant, Building
Services Workers, and other colleagues in Housing and Residential Services.

HIGHER EDUCATION EXPERIENCE

· Directly responded to and communicated with two Graduate Assistants and one Facilities Coordinator.
· Interacted with several campus partners such as the Heating Plant, Building Services Workers, and Residence Hall Staff.
· Kept track of space heater inventory by performing bi-weekly audits and updating shared Excel spreadsheet.
· Provided customer service support to over 3,800 residential students via phone and email, directly answering students'
maintenance questions or concerns within the residence halls.
· Reviewed and authenticated work order requests through the online management system when submitted by students and
staff. Assured proper routing to university trades professionals.

· Tracked active sisters weekly study hours to ensure our chapter upheld Sorority bylaws set forth by our headquarters.
· Collaborated with Academic and Operations Advisors to calculate cumulative chapter grade point average.
· Assisted the educational need of active sisters in helping them find on-campus resources as tutors, writing help, advising,
counseling, financial aid, or outside organizations.
· Guided sisters who were placed on academic probation in creating an Academic Success Plan. Regular follow up throughout
the semester was required to monitor progress.
· Hosted academic events such as study tables, “How to Find Your Learning Style,” and “How to Practice Self-Care”
workshops.
