Advertisements of snacks and toys have a great impact on children and their parents.

So, the
advertisements to children should be banned.

Do you agree or disagree?

Advertisement has become an integral part of life in this digital world. There is an ongoing argument that
ads targeting children affect their parents as well and they should be restricted. I completely agree with
this. Explained below are some of the reasons including desire to own product, financial burden on
parents and dishonest information.

To begin with, the biggest reasons to put a ban on such commercials are development of immense
craving to buy the product in children and resulting impact on their parents’ monetary condition.
Bombardment of advertisements are designed to target youngsters. Not only would they lead to
obstinacy to get those items in children but also will ultimately create difficulties for their elders
financially as these products are very expensive. For example, a middle- or lower-class households do
not have a higher level of income that they can afford such products frequently.

Moreover, another good reason to support the prohibition is conveyance of untrue information.
Commercials to appeal juveniles exaggerate the product features with the use of graphics and
computerized animations. These fallacious claims attract children to purchase these items that leads to
higher sales for advertisers which would have been otherwise extremely hard if they portray truthful
details. For instance, commercials for superhero toys show that it can fight using lasers, capturing
children’s attention; however, in reality, none of these specifications exist in the toy.

To conclude it, due to alarming reasons such as want of owning the items, financial burden on parents
and communicating wrong information of the product, commercials for snacks and toys should be
banned.
