The Problem. A decade has progressed while solid waste management continued as a crucial
problem in the Philippines. On the report of Woima Corp, the Philippines is drowning in the lack
of knowledge in proper waste disposal, limited waste collection, and lack of disposal facilities
lingers as the imposing cause of the unwavering waste management issue. As the years passed, it
worsened to a specific point where rivers became visibly dark and reeked of stink. It also caused
multiple difficulties in the country generally, the urban cities. Nevertheless, it affects besides our
environment but also many people's well-being. Many Filipinos see this as a norm but,
unfortunately, neighboring countries see this as negligence.
The solution. As Filipinos, our company concluded to take matters into our hands as to why we
seek solutions in our never-ending saga of waste management by creating Plastic Aid. This
project is to give products and services that will gradually lessen waste drownage and build
green innovation. To serve as a positive pathway to plenty, and to be a means to why creating
and using green products will bring many beneficial outcomes to our planet.
The Target Market and Clients. In Metro Manila, Plastico-Aid is produced from medical
waste, making goods and services available to any customers who might be interested in
recycled waste products. Additionally, towns and organizations who wish to manage effective
trash disposal.

PRODUCT/SERVICE DESCRIPTION
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
1. Who is the Product/service for?
● Plastic-Aid makes products and services available to any and all consumers that
may take interest in recycled waste products within the Philippine market.
● In the industry of melted recycled waste products, the common trend is to produce
construction materials for shelter or home building materials such as floor tiles,
bricks or lumber, planks, and pavers as well as stools and desks for public school
use. Other business concepts for recycled plastic wastes is based on an exchange
system wherein plastic waste is surrendered in exchange for monetary benefit or
food assistance.
● Our company seeks to produce a trash bins for waste management available for
Malls, Restaurants, Business establishments, and everyday consumer homes
● Aside from this, our line-up includes rescue materials and equipment that caters to
search and rescue organizations and personnel, Disaster Risk Reduction
Government agencies, local government units, and other non-governmental
organizations.
● Furthermore, we can venture out to supply processed recycled plastic waste as
raw materials to partnering businesses or manufacturers to be used for their
respective products.
5. Why is the product/service useful or better than the current alternative or current
status quo?
● COVID-19 has impacted the world in unprecedented ways, and with it has come a
surge in volumes of medical waste. According to the World Health Organization
`` More than 140 million test kits have been shipped worldwide, creating a
potential 2,600 tons of trash – most of which will be plastic. In April 2020, the
Asian Development Bank estimated that hospitals in Metro Manila—the region
that accounts for at least 55% of the nation’s cases—would generate 280 metric
tons of medical waste in a single day. Before the pandemic struck, healthcare
facilities in Metro Manila were estimated to produce only 47 metric tons of
medical waste daily. Nowadays, the most common trash bins are made out of
plastics which are non-recyclable. When these trash bins become old , they add up
to figures of non recyclable wastes . Plastico-Aid aims to decrease these figures
by turning medical wastes to usable products such as trash bins, paddles and
rescue boats. Our products will be made with Thermoplastic granules, which will
be produced from used medical wastes and materials. Not only will Plastico-Aid
decrease the number of disposed recyclable medical wastes, but also Plastico-Aid
will help in waste segregation and management of these medical wastes by
creating trash bins from trash itself. ‘

SWOT ANALYSIS
SWOT ANALYSIS
Most communities in the Philippines contribute to improper plastic waste that leads to many
sufferings in general. As reported by The Manila Times, the Philippines mass-produce millions
of waste materials into the sea. The Philippines' reigning third of the most plastic contributors in
the world is one of the dilemmas the Philippines government is still sorting out even today.
Plastico - Aid creates products intending to assist in trash management. Communities and
organizations that desire to handle proper garbage disposal that generates significant amounts of
waste that is unable to be most instinctively disposed of in local waste management systems
make up the target market. These include infrastructures like factories, homes, malls, businesses,
private and public schools, and hospitals. Moreover, this also included cities that must treat all
the garbage they collect from residents. Each of these organizations has waste disposal needs that
must operate effectively and immediately.
Eventually, several sectors in the world are protesting to help and save the world, but only a few
do and participate in such events. However, since the pandemic happened, mandatory staying at
home has become a norm, so people rely on delivery apps and online shopping. Bubble wraps,
surgical masks, and health waste have also become an issue. An alarming amount began to
emerge to another surge of plastic waste pollutes the land and the sea. Following this, people
have to seem to be open to the intention of producing and buying biodegradable products.
Another step forward to making the peak success of the three R’s - the reuse, reduce, recycle.
Correspondingly, Plastic - Aid will not lessen the greenhouse effects but will also bring out an
enormously positive attitude in the audience. It will also instill why recycling and reusing waste
is much more efficient than disposing of it. Producing earth-friendly products and equipment will
be an advantage in the long run.
On top of everything, this also increases demand for mass production and job opportunities. Due
to the enormous amounts of waste that need recycling, a large number of people are necessary to
produce. This project will support the people who are underemployed in the Philippines.

product THREAT Opportunity: Gross domestic product is a monetary measure of the
(GDP) market value of all the final goods and services produced and sold in
a specific time period by countries. A rising GDP equates to people
spending more, more jobs being created, more tax is paid and workers
get better pay rises.
Threat: Although, this can also be a threat due to the fact that the
economy begins to overheat when it grows too fast. An overheating
economy is unsustainable because it can't meet the demands of
consumers, businesses, and the government. The natural
unemployment rate falls. Prices for everything from toilet paper to
stocks go up. This can be a threat as it may be more costly to afford
most services to create our product.

Lack of THREAT Trash has been a major problem in Manila, and as years pass by the
initiative problem grew worse. According to one study from Solid Waste
for Management office or SWMO of the MMDA showed that the actual
recycling volume of waste in Metro Manila that was properly disposed of in its
dumping area has reached only 29,645.44 cubic meters per day, and
that was equivalent to 54.81 percent. That was equivalent to 54.81
percent of the total collected garbage each day. Therefore, 45.19
percent of garbage was not properly disposed (45 percent of Metro’s
garbage not properly disposed, 2017b). Almost half of the waste from
Metro Manila alone is not being disposed of properly. Despite strong
environmental activism among Filipinos, the Philippines still suffers
from a trash problem. Data shows that local government units are
struggling to implement the “Ecological Solid Waste Management
Act of 2000” or RA 9003 which was signed into law in 2001.
Seventeen years after the enactment of the law, 50 complaints were
filed with the Office of the Ombudsman for non-compliance with the
law.

Misconcept THREAT Recycling may be great for the environment but workers in the
ion of recycling industry face their own set of unique health and safety
Waste hazards. Recycling centers and facilities regularly deal with a large
Sanitation number of potentially hazardous conditions, including transportation,
toxins from chemicals, heavy machinery, conveyor belts, grinders,
carcinogens, explosives, shredders, and poor training. Together, these
conditions and more could be a recipe for disaster unless steps are
taken to increase workplace safety. Sorting is an extremely important
part of the recycling process and those working in this sector play a
critical role as they determine the quality of the feedstock. This
quality ultimately affects the profits and market values which
businesses generate from their recyclable commodities. Hence, those
working as sorters have a huge responsibility on them.

Philippines OPPORTU The Philippines straddles the typhoon belt, an area in the western
located at NITY Pacific Ocean where nearly one-third of the world’s tropical cyclones
the typhoon form. This area is not only the most active in the world, but also has
belt of the the most intense storms globally. Approximately 19 typhoons enter
Pacific the Philippines area each year, and six to nine make landfall annually,
and of which 6 are classified destructive. The Philippines ranks
second highest in terms of risks associated with natural disasters. It is
also found just below the Inter-tropical Convergence Zone with
northeast and southwest monsoons posing threats to its whole
territory with flood and storm surge.
Equipment, especially for emergency situations in the Philippines
are also lacking and insufficient. The Philippines Government and
LGU's Emergency Response & Disaster Preparedness are poor.
They perform poorly in disaster management particularly on
financial utilization, information management, leadership,
monitoring, collaboration, and coordination with various
stakeholders. The Philippines were not prepared and the demands
for rescue equipment were prioritized when the calamity/ disaster
itself set foot in the country. Plastico-Aid doesn’t just create bins,
we also create rescue equipment. In preparation and/or during the
relief or response phase, it is critical to get resources on the
ground as quickly as possible and that’s when Plastico-Aid enters.

Competitors For our competitors, we have identified two companies which more or less share the
same business model and processes as our company hopes to be. Both companies are
locally based, making use of drop-off and collection points in partnership and
cooperation with different businesses and organizations for the collection of plastic
waste, turning them in to sellable products.
Plastic Flamingo
https://www.theplaf.com/
Plastic Flamingo is a plastic waste recycling company that seeks to transform plastic
waste into a diverse range of new building materials. They have designated drop-off
collections points for individuals, organizations, and businesses to hand over plastic
waste to be segregated and recycled.
These are turned into raw building or processing materials such as Eco Lumber, Eco
Boards, and Pellets for further use in construction or creation of products. They also
offer different furniture products that can be made to order including ready-to-build
furniture and structure kits such as a Transitional Shelter Kit composed of easily
assembled plastic components made for post-disaster communities.
Aside from physical products, they provide education through scheduled webinars or
talks on the plastic problem and the individual actions for solutions. Of course, they
also introduce the solutions that the Plastic Flamingo can provide.
With current partnerships with existing local industry players such as Clean Our
Oceans Project, they turn single-use plastic packaging into durable crates, pallets,
trolleys, trays and furniture for long-term use. Their main products for advertisement
range from upcycled school desks, chairs, and benches, as well as mobile trash bins.
Aside from products, they provide educational content on the importance of plastic
