INTRODUCTION
Molo Simbas Rugby football club is a fully registered club in Kenya with the
Registrar of Sports pursuant to Sports Act 2013 and the subsidiary legislation
No 25. We play in the nation-wide (regional/grassroots league) rugby league in
Kenya. We are also passionate about developing school to community club
links, providing youth with an opportunity to continue their involvement in
rugby after high school.
Over the years, Molo RFC have initiated and implemented a Player Reach out
Programme (PROP) in our community, which has been a success both for the
club and the schools in Molo. Founded 12 Years ago, Molo Simbas Rugby have
been working with secondary schools and neighboring communities both for
humanitarian/charity work as well talent development. The PROP programme
involves intensive training and rugby coaching, leading to participation in the
league, the national 7’s circuit and invitational tournaments throughout the
year.
The club is organized in three arms as follows;
1. Management (comprising of former players)
2. Playing unit (U15, U18 and Senior)

also believe in helping build stronger,
healthier, happier, and safer
communities. As a club we have always
been advocates and supports projects to
strengthen communities through sport
and education.
We believe Communities that participate in sport and education develop strong
social bonds, are safer places and the people who live in them are generally
healthier and happier. The Molo area has had challenges in the past, especially
around Kenyan national elections. The club continues to make a difference by
promoting cohesion, stability and collective endeavor and heritage in the

6 PARTNERS
M
olo simbas RFC is sustained by contributions from well-wishers,
most of who are former players, volunteer coaches and officials and
donations from various partners over the years. We are honoured
and privileged to make contact with Maidenhead RFC.
As the Kenya Rugby Union extends rugby training into primary schools, Molo
RFC has laid out plans to ‘adopt’ several schools in Molo, and to introduce and
run rugby programmes in conjunction with the Union, school administrations
and the community. This is a great step for the future of rugby in Kenya.
