Bulgogy—Korean Style Shish Kebab

1 ¾ pounds of 1 inch thick sirloin steak

2 T. sugar

¼ cup dark soy sauce (La Choy is good)

¼ cup dry sherry

½ tsp. garlic powder

½ tsp. onion powder

1 tsp. of toasted sesame oil (or more if desired)

Vegetables for kebabs—onions, mushrooms, and peppers cut in pieces for grilling

Cut steak into 1 inch cubes. Mix marinade ingredients from sugar to sesame oil in a bowl big enough for
all the meat. Add meat. Mix. Cover. Marinate in refrigerator for at least 4 hours to overnight. Mix
occasionally to make sure all meat gets well covered by marinade.

Put meat and vegetables on skewers. The meat tastes especially good with a piece of onion.

Grill till meat is desired doneness. Baste with marinade while cooking.

This dish can be served with rice. Serves 4 to 6.
