Increased Production: Lower pressure drop in a well production system results in higher flow rates
and improved production, which can increase revenue and profitability.
2. Reduced Operating Costs: Keeping pressure drop low minimizes the energy required to pump
fluids and gas through the system, reducing operating costs and improving overall efficiency.
The "S" shape of the buildup test is due to the presence of skin effect in the formation. Skin effect refers to
the reduction of current flow in the formation near the borehole wall, which results in a higher resistivity
near the borehole and lower resistivity in the center. This effect causes the apparent resistivity to increase
with increasing current electrode spacing, resulting in the characteristic "S" shape of the buildup curve.

Negative skin occurs when there is a localised increase in permeability in the vicinity of
the wellbore, which can occur as the result of formation collapse or fracturing during
drilling, or deliberate stimulation. Hence we can say that positive skin factor doesn't
require stimulation.

The skin effect is termed positive if there is an increase in pressure drop. Hence, for
this value of skin factor pressure drop has positive sign
Early in the life of the well, production is dominated by linear flow as the
reservoir fluids flow through the induced fractures

the reason

Because of skin effect due to damage in the near wellbore
