Dear School District Administrators and Staff Members:

I am writing in regards to Elementary School and Middle School Teaching openings in the state of South
Dakota. I am a 2018 graduate of West Central High School. More recently, I will be a 2023 graduate at
South Dakota State University, with a major in Early Childhood Education and a certification in
Elementary Education that I received from Dakota State University. I believe that I would be a great
addition as a teacher to any South Dakota school district because not only am I passionate about
developing the next generation of South Dakota, but also because I call this state my home and want to
continue advancing our state as an academic leader in the nation.

As an undergraduate at South Dakota State University and Dakota State University, I took various courses
that have prepared me for my teaching career: assessment and curriculum in standards-based grading,
teaching methods, leadership courses, childhood development, coaching courses, and literacy and
numeracy. More so, I have participated in numerous field experiences throughout my undergraduate
years, such as assistant teaching in a four and five year-old preschool classroom, student teaching in a
toddler classroom, and practicum/student teaching experiences in sixth and fourth grade Mass
Customized Learning Classrooms. I am currently completing my student teaching experiences with a
fourth grade Mass Customized Learning team at Camelot Intermediate School in Brookings, SD.

Another important part of my undergraduate experiences was my time playing with the South Dakota
State University Division I Women’s Soccer team while maintaining a 4.0 Grade Point Average. These
experiences taught me the importance of building a strong culture with my team members, and I know I
will bring this attitude to the school. As a local member of the Hartford and South Dakota community, I
am passionate about growing the sport of soccer in our state and offering an opportunity for youth players
to play at a high level. If there is an opportunity for me to coach, I would be prepared to do so based on
the following qualifications: United States Soccer Federation courses, five years of coaching youth soccer
around the state, first aid certifications and courses, and my eighteen years of playing experience. I would
love the opportunity to represent the school district not only in the classroom, but also while coaching
youth athletes to their highest potential. I can do this in other sports such as basketball and track as well.

I believe I am a great fit for many school districts in South Dakota because I am adaptable, a lifelong-
learner, and I want to develop a love of learning in all of my students. If you would like to learn more
