TRAINING MODULE ON “SAFETY IN ELECTRICAL LOW VOLTAGE INSTALLATIONS”

(Training For Trainers)

Introduction

Indian Railways being the Single largest consumer of Electricity in the Country, is having vast
network of Low Voltage (LV) electrical system used for various purposes like Offices, Hospitals,
workshops, Stations, other installations etc. With the high footfall in these areas and having
direct contact with the Railway employees, their families and General public, it is of utmost
importance to ensure that safety provisions in electrical LV installations are being complied as
per Indian standards. Regular verification (Inspection and Testing) of the same through
electrical safety audits is, therefore, very essential. These audits are mechanism to check the
healthiness of the electrical installation, protection system and its proper functioning during
fault conditions.

Why do we need this course Module?

It is very important to ensure that electrical safety audits are conducted with correct
procedures and true spirit and for this the training of officers, supervisors and staff on electrical
safety is very essential. Considering the above requirements, CAMTECH Gwalior has prepared
this training course module on “Electrical Safety in Low Voltage Installations”. This module is a
detailed guide on important aspects of electrical safety including class room presentations,
study materials, relevant Indian Standards and Codes. This module will be useful for trainers/
instructors of training centers for imparting training to their concerned field staff.
